A large group of us reserved a table last night. Here's the issue at hand... We hadn't seen each other in a long time. We ordered drinks, we understand the bar was busy, however the wine and sodas came immediately, the mixed drinks we waited for at least 10 minutes after the other drinks were dropped, no big deal!! Here's the problem... we wanted to relax and enjoy our drinks and our visit with each other. We were pressured twice to order food directly after the mixed drinks came. So we ordered our food thinking we would have time to enjoy ourselves our drinks and our soups and salads, giving us enough time to order refills before our meal. I don't think that we needed to address that with our server, it's common sense.
I understand the corporate world of get them in get them out in 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, BUT assessment of the table and any type of celebration needs to be acknowledged!! We got our soups and salads and one of the salads did not have any dressing. A couple of us sat there for at least 5 minutes looking around for ANY server not being able to eat our dry salad. There was no one even in our dining area to ask other than one server who was taking an order with her back to our table. Two other servers walked in the room delivering food, however we waved and waved and waved they never saw us and left the dining room, blinders on. There should be acknowlegement for EVERY single table in EACH dining room by EVERY Server.
I work for Red Lobster for 4 years now and we used to be Darden affiliates, so I know the corporate drill. Even though we were bought out by a different company several years ago, it remains the same drill, it's not that difficult. By the time that we actually saw a server to ask, at least 5 minutes was lost. Less than 5 minutes later our food was dropped we still did not have the salad dressing we asked for. The dressing came AFTER all 9 people were served their main courses. SERIOUSLY??? WE did not have time to enjoy our alcoholic beverages, we did not have time to enjoy our salads and get salad refills BEFORE the main courses came. My food got cold. I was offered to have it put back under the heat lamp. Why?? So I could have dried out pasta and meat?? No thanks!! Personally, I felt very rushed, so my meal was boxed. Granted our server was very sweet, and as attentative as he could be. Rushing guests is NOT acceptable, not how guests should be treated... NOT...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came to this location on Saturday July 5th for my sister in laws birthday. We often come here because the service is amazing. However today we were being served by Miguel L. and it was the worst experience we ever had. He was so rude and condescending to us as if weāre bothering him by being there. He never came to ask if we needed refills on our drinks or soups. Then when we could catch him and ask he wouldnāt never acknowledge that he heard us and would walk away. At one point we asked for to go boxes and we were trying to say how many we needed, he waved his hand with his back turned to us and said Iāll grab a few as if he was dismissing us. Our aunt had asked him if she can have a box because he never handed them to us and he did not respond to her so my wife repeated what our aunt said and his response was Iāll get to hers. No body at the table felt comfortable or welcomed at all and we just wanted to leave. I went up to ask how do I pay the check with Apple Pay and someone said oh you pay with your server and Marco walked up took the receipt from me and walked away. No explanation of you would pay at the table Iāll show you nothing just grabbed the receipt from me and walked back to the table. The final thing that completely ruined our views on olive gardens service was at the end after I paid for our meal he (Miguel) threw the mints on the table like if he was giving dogs food. My wife asked why did he do that and his response was oh so everyone get some in the rudest most condescending way possible. This is the worst experience we have ever had in an restaurant. We did notify the manager on duty and was told Iām sorry he will get a coaching. We understand things get busy and people are people but ever other server in that restaurant was so helpful and pleasant when we would ask...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy partner & I both ordered different types of pasta & both were overcooked & a little bit soggy. When I eat at any Italian restaurant I expect pasta to be cooked at least a little al dente. Server came over after a while & asked if we wanted any to go boxes because our pasta was hardly touched. We said no because the pasta was overcooked & not worth taking home. Server left the check & then walked away. Some time later the server finally came back & asked how we wanted to pay. I said I wasn't paying until I talked to someone about our meals. Manager came over & after explaining the poorly cooked food he said he wished I would have said something earlier or notified the server & he could have another one prepared. I said we did tell the server. We already had two overcooked pasta dishes & didn't really need any more. He gave us a partial discount & we paid & left. After arriving back home I realized the manager charged us both $8.99 for a salad. The menu priced the two pastas at $14.99 but the manager removed only $13.99 for the two pastas and then charged $17.98 for two salads. So from a $14.99 pasta we were discounted $5.00 for inedible poorly cooked pasta which was 1/3 the cost of the meal. Is the salad cost really 2/3 of the pasta meal? I feel like the service, the kitchen, and the manager all failed us. I've had three different issues over the past few years at Olive Garden so maybe something is slipping with quality control. Never had an issue at Old Spaghetti Factory so I'll probably just go there if I want pasta...
