We stopped in years a go ,my daughter was 5 or 6 now shes 30, we stopped some people in huntsville asked where is some good b b que.they said go to thezion baptist church b b que i said where they located. these people said one more block over you cant miss it you will see the red brick church building with a bunch of men out front with their pits cooking,we pulled up front we had never expierence this place before .but had heard about it.it was great .we got there early in the day ,we went into the little building where.men and women were out fixing all the meat brisket ,turkey ,ribs ,sausage ,chicken and dinner rolls to die for and fixings and glasses of all flavored drinks.coleslaw ,pinto beans buttermilk cornbread, southern style ,greens, greenbeans ,corn on the cob,we ask the lady who seam to be in charge ,whos vision was this and why, she told me to feed the community, and to help the missions and church finances,she said she was an evangelist, and missionry and traveled she was a great senior saint then, great friendly christian people here. what a blessed time was had by all ,we ordered the all you can eat platter it feeds probably 8 people ,i shared that i was a jail prison minister,heading to houston tx they were fixing up peach cobblerpie and apple pies and cakes for desert ,all home made and one major ingredient which is a whole lot of love amen.we loved the place are planning to return soon. .check them out for good christian friendly people and great food baptist b b que the best IN HUNTVILLE TX. The ribs are great, the sides are great, the people are great, but when I went up there today I ordered a half pound of brisket, when I got the order it seemed kind of light but what am I to question the cooks. I went home and measured the half pound of brisket and it wasn't but just over 4 oz. After driving almost 2 hours to try this place after seeing them on Houston news I thought it would be worth the drive.
