friday i came in with my 5 year old to eat dinner. when we went in the gift shop i asked the boy working there 3 times if we could buy items with cash and he just stared at me, chewing his food, completely ignoring me. i asked him did he not hear me the first 3 times i asked and he rudely replied no. i asked was he having a bad day because his attitude was awful and his reply was “are you” so i just asked his name (he didn’t have on a name tag) he he wouldn’t tell me, he just stared like he did when i asked my initial question. i took out my phone and took a picture so i would be able to tell a manager and he tried to move out of view and then walk away. i told the manager mike what happened and he was more bent on telling me how i can buy tickets for a penny when the issue at this point was the customer service i didn’t want to buy anything after how were treated. i left. fast forward to sunday, my daughter wanted to come back and celebrate her birthday there because we have had her sisters party there before and they had a ball, despite the times being messed up and a few other bumps in the road (we still spent over $1800 between the party and the bar).. everything was going well until im playing a claw game with some of the kids by the restroom and the same boy walks by and has the same attitude, looks me up and down, just nasty and even walked into the bathroom making the little hand signal when you circle your hand next to your head/ear insinuating “crazy” .. i let it go until we were at our table and he came up and sat next to my friend (another employee) and tried to talk to her. i told him he needed to get up and walk away. i told him that my sons were here and they were well aware of how he treated us and if he didn’t want them to press him about the issue (press meaning say anything) then he needed to just walk away because him coming and sitting at our table was just picking at this point. anything he had to say could have been said when i was not around. he was trying to instigate the situation. a few minutes later about 6 or more employees were standing by where the food comes out , all staring and pointing so you could tell he was talking about me. the manager then came over and asked what happened and i explained it all, also addressing the fact that its very unprofessional for managers and several employees to be standing on the floor pointing and discussing a customer. the manager said i seem “pretty reasonable” and that he will address it. i was done with it at that point until i stood up to talk to my father and a female started looking at all of us crazy and then basically yelling like “do you have a problem , i don’t know what you’re looking at” something along those lines. i walked over and employees said she’s only 13 or something like that and pulled her into the back.. later to find out it’s the boys sister. why is family just sitting around, making issues worse, and even in the back kitchen area ? that’s not my business but if family is going to just hang out they should act accordingly and children should stay in a child’s place. we were going to cash the kids out and leave but the boy was in the shop and when i walked up you could tell he was talking about us because he was pointing and the sweet lady that was working in there with him looked over to see what/who he was talking about. i told an employee to send the manager to help us so there won’t be any more issues and he did come and walk him away. our server was the sweetest , my daughter even wanted her to have a cupcake. the lady in the gift shop was sweet and helpful too. we have never had any issues until the boy came along. i have worked in customer service over 20 years and i still do, 5 days a week , 11 hours a day. this employee and his behavior is very unprofessional and offsetting. one poor employee can ruin the whole experience and environment of a place. we spend good money and i have four kids so we come here a lot , i even come alone just to get the salmon. i know that if i stop spending my money here...
Read moreFirst, I did not eat at this establishment so I cannot comment on the food. We just went here to allow children to play some games. They allow you to purchase game cards which have points on them and each game costs a certain number of points from your card balance. They do have deals where your point values increase based on the amount you spend and they also have deals where if you buy 4 or more cards you get $5 off.
I thought the game cards were a bit overpriced. They don't seem to be as much at some other national chains offering the same experience and even some of the local ones I have been to in my hometown and other cities close to it. The games also seem to be a bit more expensive on this regard as well. I also think that the price per game needs to be a bit clearer for all players. Yes, it is on the screen but sometimes, I'd say often, it can be difficult to see properly. I also don't like that they put the price per game in decimals. It would be much nicer if it were a round number but instead it is like 6.8 points for one game and 3.5 for another so it is difficult and I would say nearly impossible to use your entire point balance you pay for at the place. For most of the games you can earn "tickets" which are not physical tickets but put on the card like the points. The points and tickets balances can be checked at several kiosks in the building. I believe they also offer digital cards on their app but did not try this feature.
The worst part of my experience was the "prizes" area. They basically have a bunch of stuff that you can get at a dollar store and jack it up. Want facemask that cost $1? That will be 750 tickets please. Even the other national chains and local restaurants have a nice sized area where you can grab some candy or other prizes for very little tickets and other small knick knacks. Yes, they have the high priced ones for show like an Occulus and autographed memorabilia but you'd have to spend more playing games than the actual price of the prizes. I know, they have to make a profit but they could at least be reasonable.
I would visit this restaurant again but I would most likely spend less on game play and I would try the food and drinks next time, until then, I will not be rushing out to a Dave & Busters...

UPDATE: really bad service. Also the server we had brought the wrong food and charged us for food we did order. They took the appetizer that we actually ordered to the table next to us three separate times. Our server said it was the other server trying to talk to her ex boyfriend that was at that table. Anyway our server came over- never said I'm sorry but explained how it wasn't her fault- and then came back with the nachos. We didn't order the nachos bur since we were deciding between the two I thought maybe she brought them to make up for the flatbread pizza issue. Then she kept commenting on how much food we ordered which was super weird and made me feel horrible. She even said she'd been snacking on a chicken tender for the past couple hours and how she'd never be able to eat what we'd ordered. I don't think one appetizer and two entrees were alot? Our ticket was $100 for two cocktails, a beer, TWO appetizers which we only ordered one, two entrees- hot wings and fish with fries and a slice of cake. ohhhhh and I ordered on the app at the table because our server was taking forever and chose fries with extra carrots for the wings and didn't receive the fries or the carrots. We also never got a single refill on our drinks. Such terrible poor service and we decided we will not be back. Our servers name was rael? Or something like that- younger black woman. Even when she brought the check she never came back for the card and made up some excuse about not wanting to bother us during the fight that was playing. Which was weird because she addressed the fight at the beginning of the meal and we said we didn't even want to be seated around all the people yelling about it as we weren't interested in it. She brought the check and we both needed to use the bathroom so I went and by the time I got back she still hadn't came and got it so I took it up to the bar and then the server came out- once again no apology for taking forever. I'm not sure if anyone will read this but we've came several times and have spent alot of money there and we hate that this server has ruined d&b for us but it was truly a...
