The front desk staff was very nice when we got there, however the experience went very bad very fast. There was almost no parking available we had to drive around awhile to find a spot. There was a ton of people loitering outside the hotel which made us feel very unsafe but with all other hotels being sold out we were out of luck. The doors and the outside of the hotel looked super ran down and bad. There was rust all over and liquids all over the sidewalks from the buildings. When we went to our room immediately it was disgusting. There were bugs everywhere!! Cockroaches, centipedes, worms, it was NASTY. There was only 2 towels for 3 people for 4 days. Only one washcloth, then later we found the other washcloth hanging over the shower curtain and it was brown and dirty. We assume the entire room wasn't even cleaned. There was no bath mat so the floor was slippery when exiting the shower, the sheets were dirty, the beds were two different sizes which was not stated. It smelled very musty and dingy. The bath tub was stained with dirt and was brown, the water smelled, there was not enough hand towels either. When I went to ask for more they didn't even have enough for the three of us. The rooms weren't cleaned, there was no new towels or changing of bedding each day. We saw the cleaner and she looked like she wasn't even doing anything but playing on her phone. When we walked in around the hotel room our feet turned black, meaning we had to wear shoes in our room because the carpet was not cleaned. It was disgusting and I should be refunded for it. We also kept losing power with no information on when it would be back and no generators in the meantime. After reaching out about this, if I am not able to get a refund from LaQuinta for the unhealthy situations I am reaching out to my credit card company to get the charges dropped. I would never recommend that anyone stays here, I have stayed at 100's of hotels all over the world and have never seen anything this bad. Hostels are even better. I felt super unsafe, super dirty and all I could imagine was bugs on me at any given time. I ended up leaving early because of it. I would not let me worst enemy stay here and this hotel should not even be in operation. The pictures online do not match the rooms and I am just grateful that I didn't bring bugs home. Please do better. I have stayed at Wyndham, and LaQuinta before and had a great experience but this one alone has...
Read moreI was originally going to give the hotel 4 stars. However, things went downhill quickly. We don’t normally stay in motels, but prefer hotels, and I didn’t realize this was a motel when I booked the room. We decided to give it a chance anyway. Upon first getting to our room, it wasn’t fancy, but we felt it was fine, so we stayed.
First thing we noticed was the outdoor pool was closed, with no explanation. I didn’t see a notice of that when I booked the room. Second, their breakfast was at least something to start the day. Not much selection and no protein/meat. The lady managing the breakfast was extremely nice and so sweet. We enjoyed her.
Ok. Those are the reasons I was going to give them 4 stars. Maybe 3 would have been more appropriate?
Now, for the rest.
Our stay consisted of 6 nights. Not once did housekeeping service our room. Yes, we had our two dogs along. When we left them, we put the “Do Not Disturb” sign out. Two, maybe three, of the days we were there, we took the dogs with us and removed the sign. Our stay coincided with the 4th of July. Our one dog had a severe reaction to the noise of the fireworks. The next morning, she had an accident in the room and managed to make a mess on the floor and sheets. We cleaned it up and stripped the beds. As we were leaving for the day, my husband stopped by the front desk to specifically request housekeeping that day. We took the dogs with us and made sure the sign was not on the outside of the door. We got home at 1:00 a.m. Nothing was done. My husband immediately went to the front desk. He was told housekeeping made a note that they knocked and heard the dogs in the room, so left. We can only guess that dogs in another room heard the knock and barked. They had our number and could have called to see if the dogs were, in fact, in the room. The front desk did bring us a change of sheets, but no blanket. Then, when my husband asked for some kind of compensation for the lack of attention to our needs, he was told there was nothing they could do because everything was closed out for the day - before 11:00 a.m.
Then, after we left, I was reviewing their site. When we checked in, we were told the dog fee is $25/night/pet, but they were going to do us a favor by ONLY charging us $100 for both dogs for the week. Their site states the pet fee is $25/night for up to 2 dogs, with...
