I was originally going to give the hotel 4 stars. However, things went downhill quickly. We don’t normally stay in motels, but prefer hotels, and I didn’t realize this was a motel when I booked the room. We decided to give it a chance anyway. Upon first getting to our room, it wasn’t fancy, but we felt it was fine, so we stayed. First thing we noticed was the outdoor pool was closed, with no explanation. I didn’t see a notice of that when I booked the room. Second, their breakfast was at least something to start the day. Not much selection and no protein/meat. The lady managing the breakfast was extremely nice and so sweet. We enjoyed her. Ok. Those are the reasons I was going to give them 4 stars. Maybe 3 would have been more appropriate? Now, for the rest. Our stay consisted of 6 nights. Not once did housekeeping service our room. Yes, we had our two dogs along. When we left them, we put the “Do Not Disturb” sign out. Two, maybe three, of the days we were there, we took the dogs with us and removed the sign. Our stay coincided with the 4th of July. Our one dog had a severe reaction to the noise of the fireworks. The next morning, she had an accident in the room and managed to make a mess on the floor and sheets. We cleaned it up and stripped the beds. As we were leaving for the day, my husband stopped by the front desk to specifically request housekeeping that day. We took the dogs with us and made sure the sign was not on the outside of the door. We got home at 1:00 a.m. Nothing was done. My husband immediately went to the front desk. He was told housekeeping made a note that they knocked and heard the dogs in the room, so left. We can only guess that dogs in another room heard the knock and barked. They had our number and could have called to see if the dogs were, in fact, in the room. The front desk did bring us a change of sheets, but no blanket. Then, when my husband asked for some kind of compensation for the lack of attention to our needs, he was told there was nothing they could do because everything was closed out for the day - before 11:00 a.m. Then, after we left, I was reviewing their site. When we checked in, we were told the dog fee is $25/night/pet, but they were going to do us a favor by ONLY charging us $100 for both dogs for the week. Their site states the pet fee is $25/night for up to 2 dogs, with a MAX of $75.

Pick another hotel! This place is disgusting!! There are SO many hotels near this one and literally any of them would be a better choice. Our AC was out the first night, so we had to sleep in our cars bc the hotel couldn’t do anything. Our feet stuck to the floors. There were stains everywhere like the place hadn’t been cleaned. We never got towels. I asked the front desk twice and both times they said they didn’t have any. The pool said it was closed for maintenance but it was just closed. Nobody was trying to fix it. The safety cover was on. They just don’t want to maintain it. The waffle irons weren’t available and they really only had muffins for breakfast. The thing you would hang a towel on if you had one was broken and laying in the bathroom floor. When I told the front desk about our issues and especially the AC and not even using our room the first night they only offered a $100 discount. That’s less than we paid for each night with taxes. It’s unacceptable to make anyone pay anything for a room they didn’t even get to use and had their whole vacation wrecked. This is without a doubt the worst and dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I should have taken pictures of it all. But I do have one of us trying to fix our own ac since the front desk said there wasn’t anything they could do for us when we told them.

When we first walked into room 250, I was unsure if it was stale smoke or a horrible musty order. The room was warm, even though AC unit was on. AC unit was showing 66*, but I was physically sweating. I noticed AC unit was falling apart, and I could not adjust temp. I called the front desk requesting a fan. The lady at the front desk stated they didn't have any fans, but she would work on finding me a room. Very pleasant. Shortly after speaking with her, I started having some difficulty in breathing. I didn't know if it was the temp. Or thick smell from old cigarettes. Within 15 min. I was in panic mode. My husband had stepped out, when he returned, he immediately went to see if he could adjust AC. That is when he found the mold. Just about that time the front desk called to say she found me a new room, they checked it out first and it was blowing cold air. I told her about the mold , she was so kind and asked if she could do anything more. I told her I'd be okay once I could get fresh air. Without asking, she said there would be no charge for that night. The new room was much better. Air was cool, room clean, and smelled fresh. When ever we asked for anything, such as coffee, she was was just wonderful. Outside start of visit, rest of weekend was nice.

The front desk staff was very nice when we got there, however the experience went very bad very fast. There was almost no parking available we had to drive around awhile to find a spot. There was a ton of people loitering outside the hotel which made us feel very unsafe but with all other hotels being sold out we were out of luck. The doors and the outside of the hotel looked super ran down and bad. There was rust all over and liquids all over the sidewalks from the buildings. When we went to our room immediately it was disgusting. There were bugs everywhere!! Cockroaches, centipedes, worms, it was NASTY. There was only 2 towels for 3 people for 4 days. Only one washcloth, then later we found the other washcloth hanging over the shower curtain and it was brown and dirty. We assume the entire room wasn't even cleaned. There was no bath mat so the floor was slippery when exiting the shower, the sheets were dirty, the beds were two different sizes which was not stated. It smelled very musty and dingy. The bath tub was stained with dirt and was brown, the water smelled, there was not enough hand towels either. When I went to ask for more they didn't even have enough for the three of us. The rooms weren't cleaned, there was no new towels or changing of bedding each day. We saw the cleaner and she looked like she wasn't even doing anything but playing on her phone. When we walked in around the hotel room our feet turned black, meaning we had to wear shoes in our room because the carpet was not cleaned. It was disgusting and I should be refunded for it. We also kept losing power with no information on when it would be back and no generators in the meantime. After reaching out about this, if I am not able to get a refund from LaQuinta for the unhealthy situations I am reaching out to my credit card company to get the charges dropped. I would never recommend that anyone stays here, I have stayed at 100's of hotels all over the world and have never seen anything this bad. Hostels are even better. I felt super unsafe, super dirty and all I could imagine was bugs on me at any given time. I ended up leaving early because of it. I would not let me worst enemy stay here and this hotel should not even be in operation. The pictures online do not match the rooms and I am just grateful that I didn't bring bugs home. Please do better. I have stayed at Wyndham, and LaQuinta before and had a great experience but this one alone has...
