If could rate my experience here on 1/10/22, I would rate it as 'Meh...'
First, I'll admit I didn't go during the lunch buffet. I went around 3:00. The first thing I noticed was that the Salsa was nothing more than Paces Picante chunky style. That was a little let down. I could have gone to the grocery store and gotten that.
Second, I guess the restaurant doesn't like parties of one - because all I got was the staff starting at me like I was going to dine and dash (more on this in a moment).
Third...the food was super salty. Like they drowned it in salt. I ordered the Nachos - because I didn't think that could be that bad. It was subpar and super salty. The beef tasted old and maybe previously cooked and burnt.
Then...it came to pay. I alerted the server I had never eaten there before..and asked if I paid her or paid up front. She quickly told me I had to pay her. So I did. But, as I was walking out, I saw a couple paying up front. So this goes back to that feeling that they didn't trust me as a customer because I was flying solo?
The last thing I will say is the note they have placed outside their restaurant is VAGUE. Like many, many restaurants - they state that supply chain is killing their inventory - therefore prices might be higher than expected. But, unlike other companies they just have a note and say 'the prices might be higher...' with no indication of the difference and on what. Any other restaurant I have gone to clearly has the price difference marked per item on the menu.
Seeing the sign that just said 'the menu prices might be wrong...' feels lazy and it feels like the restaurant isn't being fully honest. Yes, you have let us know prices might be different. But on what...and by how much? To be this vague...you technically could serve a meal that is normally eight dollars and then charge the customer $16 under the reasoning of 'hard times.' The customer would obviously be upset you doubled the price...and would be upset because you were not technically up front with them alerting them that this specific meal is now double the price (PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN EXAMPLE...THIS DID NOT HAPPEN).
Overall...not impressed. It's a shame too, this place has good reviews on Google and I went there based on this. Maybe the high marks are for the buffet? Maybe it was just a bad day...but I know I won't be going back...
Read moreMy husband and I ate there last Saturday night. It was the worse restaurant experience I've ever had. To start with it was extremely hot in there. Within minutes we were both sweating profusely. The lady behind the buffet looked very annoyed to be there and to wait on us. I don't know if she understands English or not because she gave my husband and I the wrong food after we even pointed to what we wanted. Not sure what it was we were eating but it was very mushy and bland. My husband ordered a long island tea and it was so disgusting he couldn't even drink it. With the drink still being totally full the waitress asked if he would like another round. Are you kidding me, did she not see he hadn't even drunk that one. Then when we went to pay the guy said they are not taking credit cards tonight because their machine is down. We told him that was the only thing we had to pay with. Nobody carries cash anymore. He should have told his customers this when they came in. We would have gone somewhere else. Instead he just stands there and stares at us. Finally our waitress came over and said she could write down our card number on a piece of paper and run it when the machine is working. I will never eat here again. I don't know how this place has received such great reviews? Also, the food was bland and the...
Read moreThis is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is cooked well and with passion. The margaritas are the generous sizes and balanced. The atmosphere is also colorful and welcoming, it’s comfortable and easy to talk with your party pretty much anywhere you sit.
The staff will treat you like family with warm welcomes and goodbyes, also in the sense that if you ask an obvious or silly question you will probably get the aunt “really?” look. I like that kind of honesty, not for those more sensitive I guess. I personally don’t want them to change that, because it feels friendly and family-like.
The buffet lady deserves more respect than the other reviews give. She is not unfriendly, she works hard over those hot pans and if you smile at her and are grateful for her, she will smile back and dote on you, and you would not think she is unfriendly.
I think the people who claim to have negative staff experience were either not treating them like people, or they misunderstood the staffs honesty.
They care about their work and their food and your visit. It’s a get what attitude you give environment, and it’s very much worth...
