Stopped by for dinner with my boyfriend and friend. This marks me eating at every Korean joint in Huntsville (as far as I'm aware). Garam is easily now one of my favorites, though I had good experiences at pretty much all of them except for I Love Korea, which was just adequate.

At any rate, Garam is fairly spacious and nicely decorated, a bit more of a luxurious feel than its competition. That's a plus, and hopefully to be expected, as I do feel the prices are a bit high for the portion sizes at Garam -- and therefore something must even that out!

The menu is of average size, but it has more "adventurous" options than many of the other Korean restaurants in town. I stuck with my favorite, dolsot bibimbap, with beef. My friend had the dupbap, which seemed similar to the dolsot bibimbap, but without the hot stone bowl and with slightly more of a soupy texture. I tried it, and it was very tasty! A bit sweeter than bibimbap. On my end of things, the bibimbap was also delicious. Very tender beef, and I liked all the veggies: bean sprouts, cucumber, and carrots. The rice all got super crispy (yay!); my only complaint was that there wasn't quite enough. The egg on top was delightfully runny, and there were two red sauces to choose from. I don't know enough about Korean food to say definitively what they were. They both could have been gochujang, or perhaps only one; they were similar in color and texture but one came in a dish with the banchan and the other came in a bottle. The bottled one was slightly thinner and spicier. I added both to my bibimbap and loved it!

While I'm thinking about the banchan (small plates) - not as many were given to us as you typically receive at other places in town, but they were all enjoyable. Kimchi was cool and crunchy, fish cakes were spongy and savory, seaweed was salty and sweet and flaky, and then the final dish...I couldn't identify the veggie, but it was definitely pickled, slightly spicy, and also quite tasty.

Lastly, my boyfriend had bulgogi, which he devoured and pronounced amazing. We were also all served a cup of tofu soup, which was mild, warm, and enjoyable.

Service was a bit lukewarm; she wasn't super friendly or welcoming when we came in, but seemed to warm to us over the course of the meal. Forks were offered, rather than me having to ask, which makes this anxious and incredibly unskilled chopstick non-user happy.

My only complaints are the sort of cool service and the smaller portion sizes that come with a higher price. Still, the food was so tasty and flavorful I'll absolutely return; just maybe get an appetizer next time, and/or...

A Culinary Journey to Korea's Delight at Garam!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Korean restaurant, and it was an absolute feast for the senses! From the moment we walked in, the inviting ambiance set the stage for a memorable culinary experience.

The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the Pig Feet, a unique and flavorful dish that left our taste buds dancing. The ChickeFried Rice was perfectly seasoned, and the Dinner Box was a treasure trove of delights, featuring Chapchae noodles, Korean dumplings, Kimchi pancakes, and a medley of other mouthwatering Korean delicacies.

Every bite was a celebration of authenticity and freshness. The inclusion of radish enhanced the overall dining experience, providing a delightful contrast to the rich flavors of the main dishes. The attention to detail in each dish showcased the chef's dedication to delivering an authentic Korean dining experience.

The staff was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. The restaurant's commitment to customer service is truly commendable.

If you're a food enthusiast or someone curious about Korean cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. The diverse menu and impeccable execution of each dish make it a perfect place to explore and savor the wonders of Korean food.

Join me in this gastronomic adventure and discover the magic of Korean cuisine. Your taste buds will thank you! We can't wait to return for another delightful experience.

For those who appreciate a well-curated culinary experience and love sharing their food adventures on social media, this restaurant is a haven. Don't forget your camera – every dish is a potential Instagram...

I'm from the island of O'ahu where every street corner in downtown near Ala Moana is bursting with Korean Restaurants. I grew up with Millions as a home in the wall Korean Restaurant and Sikdorak for my AYCE Korea BBQ. I recently moved to Huntsville and while I was at a anime con, I was told to try this place out since it's the closest you can get to good Korean food in Huntsville.

My boyfriend and I drove here and were quickly seated by the two young waitresses. (Btw they were awesome! Especially the Korean waitress, she and I vibed over past memories of good Korean street food and cup Toppoki). He ordered the two protein Bibimbap with Regular and Spicy Bulgogi. I went with the Galbi Tang. We also ordered an appetizer of Gyeran-Jim (Steamed Egg) to start. The total for the bill was $25 a person

The sides counted as our Banchan. We also had to be $1 extra to get one more choice of Sides. Worth.

The food was pretty amazing and very close to what I am used to. The only complaint I have is the Kalbi was so tough! It was if they only cooked it until it was fully cooked then served it instead of making sure the meat was soft. It was really chewy and it started hurting my jaw at some point for how chewy it wass. Otherwise I will go...
