I ordered curbside online and it said to call when I arrived. I called and told them I didn't see any curbside parking markers but said I was there and told them where I had parked. The guy I talked to said ok and that they were bagging my food so it would be done in just a second. 20 minutes later I called and a different person answered and I repeated what I had said and said I was just wondering what was going on. She said the curbside spots are in the back and they don't come out after dark, and I was like ok why did the first guy not mention either of those things? I would have gone inside as soon as I parked if I had known. So my food was sitting there for 20 minutes getting soggy and I had to go inside looking like a goblin because I hadn't anticipated getting out of the car. What if I had mobility issues or something? And if I hadn't called back when I did, how long would they let the food sit there before first phone guy realized there was a problem? If the website had said in the first place that indoor pickup was the only option, everything would have been completely fine. If the first guy had been like "oh actually you need to come inside, sorry" when I first got there, that also would have been fine besides being a little annoying from the "didn't expect to be seen in public" standpoint. But the 20 minutes I waited for no reason that just led to weird textured food was not OK. I actually almost went to the drive-through Little Rosie's on Whitesburg instead even though it's way farther for me. They consistently have better food and service and speed, and I regret picking...
Read moreThis place is huge! It was busy when we arrived, but we were seated right away at a nice, large table near the center of one of the dining areas. Our waitress was very friendly, polite, and attentive, which we really appreciated. They give free chips and salsa here (always a plus!!) -the chips were hot and tasted fresh and the salsa had a lot of flavor with just the right "spicyness". My husband ordered a beef burrito and I ordered chicken enchiladas. We both really enjoyed our meals-lots of flavor, everything tasted fresh, and both meals were served hot, on hot plates. The decor and open feel of the building made for a fun atmosphere, which we love seeing in Mexican restaurants.
The only suggestion I would make is to be sure the employees answering the phones are knowledgeable of the daily drink specials. I had called on Monday in hopes of a Margarita Monday special, but the employee I spoke to on the phone didn't know the special, so I assumed there wasn't one and we put Rosie's on hold for later in the week. I would have loved to take advantage of their margarita deal (only on Mondays), and just wish the employee would have known the special so we could have come then, as we are only in town for a few days and won't be back on another Monday. Another option would be to list the drink specials on the website.
Great food, fun atmosphere, and friendly, attentive service-you won't be...
Read moreI'm guessing our server was having a bad day, perhaps? We were visiting from Washington, DC, and had heard from co-workers that Rosie's was a great place to go for a meal, so we stopped by for lunch (around 2ish).
Our group of three explained we were not from the area and we had a few questions about the menu. When responding to our questions the server was rude to us, as if she was insulted that we didn't understand everything about the menu and items which were available. We didn't pay much attention to the exchange at this point. When it came to interacting with the other patrons, however, our server seemed very chatty and almost gregarious. Not sure why we were given the cold shoulder.
When food was delivered she threw the chips on the table and partially spilled one of the drinks because she slammed them down on the table as well. One of me co-workers immediately approached the manager of the restaurant and complained about our server. We were promptly provided with another server who was fine. We were also given the meal we had selected free of charge along with an apology (we tipped the waitress the full amount).
I'm not sure what the issue was on that day but the food was okay and we'd really like to give Rosie's another chance during our next visit to Huntsville. Hopefully we'll have a...
