The Dish — Restaurant in Huntsville

Hadn't been to this comfortable cozy spot in awhile, but this evening's returned visit was still yet warming and welcoming as always by Mr. C, him who i say always shows his gentle and friendly kindness to all his customers which is why I frequently would visit to hang out and chill.

Upon entering the building, myself and a friend find a spot at the bar to chill. The bar hostess came over to get our orders. I placed my order first, just getting some chips and salsa, fries, and a sweet tea. She brought the cups sweet tea to the bar, and I immediately sipped it two times and knew I didn't want it. I waited a few minutes and asked her for some water, which she had asked for me to give her a minute, which is proper. She finished making the drink orders for the two customers sitting on the stools next to me, and never re-addressed me asking her if I may have some water. She walked past me several times, even while I was trying to get her attention, and I finally asked my friend was I been ignored on purpose. I left one of my favorite spot that I would chose to go chill and relax, feeling even more frustrated than when I went in there because the unprofessionalism of the service I received for very poor and unsatisfactory for the more times I have visited this establishment. I do hope she coached and retrained on the how to provide a business establishment to proper customers service because a good attitude get you everything, but stepping outside of the platinum rule on how you treat someone how you want to be treated, is why a lot of us get our a$$ kick, just for that disrespect.

Weeeeeelllllll where do I begin. I wanted fried green tomatoes so I googled who had them and it was The Dish. I had never been there before so I figured why not give them a try. I ordered 2lg orders of fried green tomatoes, I don't think I got all of them not to mention they are so salty I can't even eat them. I wanted a chicken philly but they only had beef but the cook decided he wanted to try making one in which I didn't mind; the sandwich was dry and bland no mayo in sight. The plastic container must be what we paid for. The collard green spring rolls were definitely different but not bad. Overall I felt the food price was toooo high 8dollars for a Philly steak on what was the size of a hotdog bun but the bread was very fresh. This was my first time going to this restaurant and it was a horrible experience. The guy at the door charged us 10 dollars to get in talking about they had a live band playing. We walked in and there was no one but a dj playing music. The drinks were ok but they put it in a small plastic cup. Not worth the money at all. The only good part was the food. When we were about to leave the band was just starting to set up. I asked the guy at the door could I get my money back since we didn't see a live band playing.
