Food Review: Harbor House – Bang Bang Tacos & Banging Shrimp Basket If you're looking for a bold, flavor-packed seafood experience, Harbor House delivers with their Bang Bang Tacos and Banging Shrimp Basket. Both dishes bring serious heat, crunch, and craveable flavor to the table. Bang Bang Tacos: These tacos are an absolute hit. Stuffed with crispy fried shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy bang bang sauce, they strike a perfect balance of sweet heat and savory crunch. The shrimp are fresh and well-seasoned, while the soft tortillas and crisp slaw add just the right texture and bite. Each taco is drizzled with a tangy sauce that ties everything together—messy in the best way. If you're a taco lover who likes a little kick, these are a must-try. Banging Shrimp Basket: The shrimp basket lives up to its name—banging flavor in every bite. The shrimp are golden and crispy, with that same addictive bang bang sauce giving them a creamy, spicy punch. Served with seasoned fries and coleslaw, it's a hearty, satisfying meal that doesn’t skimp on quality or portion size. The basket hits that comfort food sweet spot—crispy, flavorful, and indulgent without being greasy. Final Verdict: Harbor House nails it with these two dishes. The bang bang sauce is the star, giving both the tacos and shrimp basket a signature flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, these dishes are perfect for seafood fans who like their food bold, spicy, and full of personality.

Harbor House is a lovely little gem that is worth the trip to Huron. The patio sits right on the mouth to Lake Erie. While you enjoy a beverage and a meal you can watch the boats slowly enter and exit the lake. I enjoyed the perch tacos while my lunch enjoyed the California chicken wrap. Both meals were spot on. The sidewinder fries are a unique accompaniment to the wrap. They are unlike any fries you have ever had. Imagine a potato wedges and a curly fry had a baby. THAT is a sidewinder fry. The perch tacos were well filled with a crunchy fried whole piece of perch that rested gently atop of fresh cut tomatoes and a zesty acidic slaw. I highly recommend a jaunt out to the Harbor House on the next sunny breezy day.

Stopped for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. It was not crowded at all. They have about a half dozen beers on tap. We chose to sit inside, but they do have an eating area right on the waterfront. We chose two house specialties, the perch tacos and the grouper tacos. The perch tacos were just like eating a fish dinner. Perch filets fried to perfection and served on a bed of cole slaw and tomatoes. They were good. The grouper tacos are served on a bed of mango and tomato, giving them a more tropical taste. We also had the twisty fries that are kind of like curly fries, but much fatter. They were good with malt vinegar. Service was good and the place was clean. They have live entertainment in the evenings as well.

I don't know what was worse the food or the service. We walked in and we're told outside seating was available. We proceeded to go outside to sit and yes they had some tables but they were covered in dirty dishes. So we waited a while by a dirty table and finally this waitress came and cleared the table. We sat down and ordered drinks which came 20 + mins later. My bushwhacker was melted and spilled everywhere. She said sorry we are busy. We glanced around wondering where but let it slide. We then ordered our food. The waitress was super curt and obviously not interested in taking our order. By the time the food came out we had to go and refill our drinks at the bar 3 times as she never checked on us. But of course, we heard her complaining about how someone only tipped her 17$ on a 110$ tab and "that's not 30%". And hand menus to other patrons from across the concrete barrier as she couldn't be bothered to walk around and take their order properly. Seemed like she was more interested in complaining about patrons and talking to other waitresses then actually doing her job. Once the food came by another waitress, mind you, she waited a few minutes before finally checking on us for the first time. We of course couldn't eat because we hadn't been given an silverware by her and requested utensils. We received the silverware and eagerly dug in to probably one of the worst meals I have recieved from a restaurant in a while. My Cajun steak Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box, there wasn't anything Cajun about it lacked spice, the steak was over cooked and dry as in tasted like saw dust and also had absolutely no seasoning. I had also ordered a bang bang shrimp basket which was pretty intolerable because of the sauce on top it resembles a moot spicy mayo. The rest of the table ordered steak and had same complaints, dry and no seasonings. Needless to say, this was probably the worst 100$ spent as no one had the stomach to finish their meals and service was super unfriendly. We most definitely will not be returning and will pass along to others that this place is a huge disappointment. The best part was actually the...

I got food poisoning 5 hours after eating here. I don't have any allergies.

We walked into the restaurant and it said to seat yourself. We sat at a table for 25 mins and we didn't get any service. Servers walked by us numerous times and did nothing. Didn't even ask if we had been helped. So we got up and moved to the bar. The bartender took her sweet time so by the time we got menus, it had been 35 mins. I got bang bang shrimp with fries and coleslaw as my main and pierogis as my appetizer. My boyfriend got their raspberry jalapeño poppers burger as his main and soft pretzels as his appetizer. Everything sounded great on paper. We were excited and really hungry. Took forever to get to order. Food was worse than frozen food. I'm pretty sure they served us frozen food. The bang bang shrimp was barely drizzled with a sauce that was supposed to be spicy Mayo but instead tasted like Buffalo sauce. I had to get more sauce on the side. It was so bad I couldn't finish my plate. The coleslaw tasted so bad and I like coleslaw typically! The fries were decent. The pierogis were lukewarm and decent. Came with lukewarm grilled onions and sliced sausage. Edible but I could have gotten something better at Walmart's frozen aisle. The burger was overpowered by raspberry sauce and the jalapeños were not spicy at all and had no flavor. The cream cheese was bland. The patties were dry and overcooked. The pretzels were soft and decent but they served it with weak honey mustard. Was expecting stadium/stone ground mustard. The dipping cheese was the gross nacho cheese. Would not go back or...
