Asahii Sushi Grill and Bar — Restaurant in Hurst

I recently discovered Asahii, a newly opened restaurant in Hurst, Texas, and it’s already one of my favorite spots in town. Opened just a few months ago by the incredibly talented and sweet owner, Jen, a Thai immigrant with a passion for flavor and creativity, Asahii brings something truly special to the local food scene.

We started with the pork egg rolls, beef tataki, and avocado blossoms – all absolutely fantastic. The egg rolls were crisp and flavorful, the beef tataki was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the avocado blossoms were a standout.

The sushi rolls was another highlight, especially the signature rolls created by Jen herself. Fresh, bold, beautifully plated — you can tell a lot of thought and heart went into every roll.

They also serve authentic Thai dishes, ramen, and a lunch bento box special, giving you plenty of variety whether you're in the mood for comfort food or something lighter and refreshing.

Asahii is still new, so food and service may take a little extra time, especially during busy hours — but trust me, it’s totally worth the wait. The care they put into every dish and the genuine hospitality from Jen and her team make it a place you'll want to come back to...

My hubs and I were headed to Vie de Paris to pick up a baguette but saw this sushi place as we drove into the parking lot. It had been a plan to pick up sushi from a place on the way home and spur of the moment we decided to try out this place instead. I'm so glad we did! It's an unassuming diner vibe inside. The menu is pages long. Everything we had was delicious, starting with the miso soup and the iced green tea drink, which was lightly sweet and creamy. We shared the suggested avocado blossom and the chicken egg rolls. The avocado blossom was a surprise. A rich and succulent tempura battered crab stuffed delight. Lunch could have ended here, but we had come in for sushi... mmmm! I had the shaggy dog, and hubs had the Japanese garden. Mine was the star. His was a slightly upgraded Cali roll. Still good, but mine was stellar...he was jealous. Yes, of course I shared a couple, so keep your side eye to yourself. We will definitely...
