Patzcuaro cafe — Restaurant in Hurst

I will start by saying that the food was good. They had good portions for the price and tasty. I really liked the salsa, normally I don’t care for warm salsa but this was good. That’s the reason for the three ⭐️’s. However, I wasn’t impressed with the service for a few reasons. I explained to the server this was our first time to visit the restaurant. I asked her recommendations. She gave me ONE of her favorites and there are several to choose from. She was pleasant and smiled but really did not engage, didn’t check on us periodically like she should have. I had asked her if I could have some chips and salsa to go and when I got my ticket she charged me $2.99. I worked at a restaurant for 15 years and never charged for chips and salsa to go nor have I ever been charged anywhere else. I understand this may be there policy and it’s ok but I felt she should have said so when I ordered them. If you are a paying patron and eating inside, the ships and salsa are free why wouldn’t they be free when you leave as well? She never asked if we would like desert, she never pre bussed our table. Restaurant is a little plain looking inside. But don't judge a book by it's cover. The Mexican Food is AWESOME ! The seasoning is Perfect, just the right amount of spices. My daughter has a Chef's Touch_ it's got her Seal of Approval. Perfection At It's Best !

As you guested, I took the family. And we all tasted each others plate. Carne Esada with Charra Beans instead of refried. Oh man, out of this world good.. Chile Relino & Fajitas plates are the Bomb good.

Each plates portions are big enough to share with another person and get full. We are in our 50's age wise and it's plenty enough. Average price per plate is $10. My wife and I often buy each our own plate and share each other's so we can taste 2 different items in one sitting. If you only eat half a plate You have tomorrow's dinner ready. That amounts to $5 a plate
That's a cheap fast food price for gourmet quality. Can't beat that.

I like to try new restaurants. Not crazy about chain restaurants. Small business owners need all the help they can get. I was near Northeast Mall today at about 3:00 pm and decided to try out Patzcuaro Cafe. The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the beautiful floor. The other noticeable thing was how clean and fresh the restaurant looked. I was seated promptly, and my order was taken. Of course, that time of day wasn't too busy. Something about the salsa was different and delicious. Had a kick to it, very good. My taco salad was delightful with grilled onions and peppers, quacomoly, and grilled chicken. You can't go wrong at this place. No, I don't have an interest in the restaurant. No, I'm not getting paid for this review. When I am looking for a restaurant, I read the reviews.
