Five Below — Local services in Hurst

Such a fun store! Too bad the evening manager, Tony, has horrible customer service skills or I wouldn't be here writing about our experience.

My husband and I went to this store last night to pickup a couple of car chargers and a small waste basket. We knew it would be a quick stop, we arrived at around 8:45 pm and got most of what we needed, we were just looking for the waste basket. It wasn't even 9 pm yet and he begins to ask us to check out because they are closing soon and asked if he could help us find something, we tell him what we need but he dismisses us telling us he is not sure and all we have is right "there" leaving us to find it, no problem. We kept looking and he comes back literally about 3 minutes later and lets us know we have to check out, he is closing the store, still not 9 pm. We say forget it and decide to check out while he follows us to the front, while we check out he is holding the door open for us.

I've worked retail for many years so I know how it is but companies I have worked for would NEVER tells us to do the things he did. He was rude and not willing to truly help whatsoever. NOT the type of person anyone should want to hire or manage a store that thrives on what based on the reviews is supposed to be great customer service along with great prices.

This will not keep me from going back to this location but hopefully next time I go this guy won't be there. He sucks as a manager and if he doesn't like his job, he should find...

during my visit at 5 below when i went to checkout i thought i might grab a drink. i grabbed the last orange cream coke zero in the fridge. when i checked the exp date on it it was 2 months expired.. i thought maybe dont grab it but it was the last one, aaand my favorite flavor. i decided to maybe ask if i could get it on the house or even discounted. because it was two whopping months expired it should have been trashed anyway. so theres this short old woman with gunk on her teeth working the front. when i politely asked her what i had set out to do she SCREAMED at me?!?! in front of other customers aswell. she yelled she couldnt do it because it has to go back into the cooler for paying customers. mind you i just showed her it was expired? she then went on aboutshe has worked there for 11 years and basically spat in my face when she did that. watch out for her she is...

My kids love going into Five Below. It looks like they are in the process of changing the store around, so there are boxes and pieces of cardboard laying around. The kiddos still found what they were looking for and one of the employees setting up displays and items did apologize and move some things out of the way. She was very nice and polite. The reason I'm only giving three stars is they have made all the registers self checkout, that's no problem, however, I needed some help and two female employees were standing right next to be talking and when I asked a question they looked at me like I was crazy. They then informed me I couldn't pay cash on the side I was at. Again no problem, but they could have informed me what side to go to and I wouldn't have had to...
