Pete's Cafe — Restaurant in Hutchins

I was so excited to learn about a new restaurant in Hutchins! It would be lovely to have an addition to the community that was not fast food. My husband and I have eaten breakfast there several times. Even though the breakfast was okay and nothing to get excited about, we decided to try their lunch and placed a pickup order.. My husband ordered the meatloaf, and I ordered the sirloin hamburger steak. The person on the phone told me it came with hash brown and eggs, even though the menu said it was a lunch item with three veggies. She told me to hold on, and another person came to the phone to inform me that it came with hashbrowns and eggs. My response was "I don't want eggs for lunch." She then proceeded to tell me I needed to order from the lunch menu!?! (Keep in mind it was a little after noon) . The meatloaf was terrible, and the pictures below will describe the uneaten sirloin hamburger steak. I immediately called for a refund, and the lovely lady said they would refund the sirloin hamburger steak. But.........still had to share this. I will admit I like my food cooked, so I won't be returning if you prefer your food not cooked....

Went into the restaurant and was told we could seat ourselves. Shortly after, we were greeted, and they took the drink order. When they came with the drink, I asked for a few minutes to study the menu. Gaby came back a few minutes later. I ordered the huevos rancheros, and they were very good. Eggs cooked just as I ordered. About two minutes later, Gaby came back and asked if everything was alright, and it was. She then disappeared until the meal was mostly finished and asked if I needed anything. I asked for a refill of my iced tea. She quickly returned with that. As I was leaving, I was offered a to go cup for the leftover tea. I gladly accepted. Overall, it was a great experience...

We took a wrong turn and found this gem!

There was a zero wait time and were immediately greeted....by everyone. Nice way to start the day.

Hubby ordered the Eggs Benedict a sweet tea. I had the waffle special (egg and bacon) and a side of hash browns. Short wait for its arrival. Yippee!

Hubby loved his breakfast. His new favorite place. I liked mine. The coffee was very weak.

The total was $33.56 if you use a credit card. Pay cash and you pay $32.26.

This location has been open for 5 months and is clean with nice jams playing.

We will be back. Good find! Come out and try. It's right...
