Summary: I love everything about this restaurant! The food was amazing, the staff are kind, sincere and work very hard to make each patron happy and feel welcome.
For my first visit to this restaurant, I arrived very shortly before closing time. Typically I don't like to do that, knowing all the staff is probably tired at the end of their day and have been working through their closing checklist so when the time comes they can lock the door, pick up the chairs, mop the floors and go home.
Depending on how many people there are, it can really suck to have people show up at the last minute to disrupt the process, making the staff do things over that were already done. (Speaking from personal experience)
With this in mind, I apologized to Jennifer, my waitress who seated me and she made me feel right at home without a hint of frustration at all.
This restaurant is relatively new, located at the Amtrak terminal, with plenty of parking and handicap access to serve the needs of anyone.
I had the typical breakfast for me, waffles, two eggs over medium, hash browns, bacon, wheat toast and coffee. It was amazing! The portions were generous for the price which was very reasonable, with everything arriving quickly, hot and cooked to perfection.
It was hands down the best breakfast I have had at a restaurant in a very long time.
There was no rush to try to get me to finish, and I think I was checked on by at least three people who were genuinely interested to make sure I was happy, check my coffee and see if there was anything else I wanted.
The restaurant is clean and well organized, with seating outdoors, and indoors of course. The furniture is comfortable, there are lots of clean windows for natural lighting and the atmosphere is low key, family friendly and can accommodate a large group I would think without any problems.
I have since then returned several times and spoken to the owners and several of the other staff who are all very kind and sincerely interested in doing the best they can to make the patrons happy and provide the best service possible.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is hungry and I plan to keep coming back for...
Read moreThe cleanliness, food and customer service were good. Portions are large. Here's what I didn't like and why I will not be returning or recommending to friends and family: It's very loud in there. It may not be controllable due to the cafe being in a train station but it sounded more like the base on the sound system was too high. I left without finishing my breakfast because I was going to be sick from the instant headache. When you pay, there is a sign informing you that you will be charged more for using a card or offered a cash discount. This was no where on the menu or otherwise stated beforehand. The "cash discount" would have been the total from price listed on the menu plus tax which is what I expected to pay when I chose my order. I only had a card so paid that way. It added over $1 to my total. Tips are not optional or customizable on their card machine. I had planned on tipping my server because she was nice but my only options were 15, 18, 20, or 22%. I paid almost $17 for a single breakfast after the hidden fee and...
Read moreThe workers and waitresses here are actually so nice and amazing, even helping me with directions to get around town while I wait for my train, opening doors for customers coming in, and being incredibly patient and compassionate (more than i would have been) towards a... difficult to say the least customer.
I havent had the food but i have had the coffee and I'll tell you as a native new Yorker, youd be hard pressed (no pun intended) to find a better cup. Perfectly smooth, even drinking it black hardly any bitterness at all. One cup of this thing and I feel ready to take on the entire day on 3 hours of sleep lol.
All In all an amazing experience and very sensible prices. Sure the trains coming by are sort of loud but its drowned out by chatter and the sounds of the kitchen.
Super cute family owned and...
