Sunflower Inn — Hotel in Hutchinson

(10/22)Cheapest room in town. Front door and back door to the building. Once in, it is down stairs to the bottom floor, up stairs to the 2nd floor, and up more stairs to the 3rd floor. Light bulbs burned out, smoke detector beeping due to low battery, queen mattress (very comfortable!) on a full size box springs. Roll over too far and you're on the floor! Very dim bathroom light. Plugs behind bed so loose if you plug things in they fall out immediately. No cleaning done while there two weeks. Hard to get towels and washcloths. Toilet paper rolls are doll-sized. No roller in holder for toilet paper. Refrigerator worked great, heat/air worked great. TV is Cox Cable so some channels drifted. Mouse hole in the corner of the room. Definitely had been sprayed for bugs due to finding dead crickets, spiders, etc. Only found one live spider while there abd he wasn't very lively. DEFINITELY NO BED BUGS!!!! But once I went to Walmart and bought the toilet spindle, toilet paper, washcloths, light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, and full size trash bags instead of small store bags it wasn't bad for the price. I should have bought a dust mop for the floor too. Lots of dogs so some barking, door slamming, yelling, and fighting but that could be anywhere. This is the picture of room 12 on the bottom floor. I actually would stay there again if my key deposit had been returned as promised.

DO NOT EXPECT THE $40. KEY DEPOSIT RETURNED!!!! I returned my key. Manager said she would have to credit it back to my account but didn't do it while I was there. Now says she did it but it has never been put back in my bank.

(05/23) UPDATE! NEVER EVER GO HERE!!!! I stayed in October of 2022. My bank account was charged $480. for my 2 week stay. Key deposit was never returned. On May 21, 2023 THEY TOOK OUT ANOTHER $480. COMMITTING FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the most lowest and beyond of all stays here or anywhere!!! First, got harassed by hpd finest as parking infront to check on room availability, along with having “payment accepted types” posted at the door, all 3 was 100% wrong. The lady working the desk that night was extremely rude about Everything sending my bf on 2 “blank missions” to find a working ATM to pay 45$ for a room on the 3rd floor that was mildew and disgusting, NO TV at all, NO running water, along with NO heat or anything in there with birds and other “critters” living in there. Paying upfront a 50$$ Extra Deposit for the night. We immediately let the other staff there come in and see all the damage and took pics and did absolutely nothing about it!!! When checkout time came, we left early having them come see the room one more time so that it was Really 100% documented with not having any issues or problems and was told and given the “run around” about when to come back and pick up my deposit that was supposed to be in an envelope w name on it. Came back at planned time and as went to pick it up the lady hurried and opened the envelope up and pocketed my deposit and gave an award winning excuse of “she’s not giving it back to us bc of a incense/ candle smell” which they BOTH knew about me having bc of how nasty the room smelt, looked, and whole top floor was horrible with weed smell. Booked the room as we were driving, so didn't have any idea what it looked like. We needed truck parking which they had only because there were not many customer. We got the impression from the clerk that there was an outside entrance but there wasn't. Told her was not able to climb stairs so needed a first floor room. Only front entrance and had to go down a few stairs to lower level. The man at the front desk did help me down the stairs and he was very nice. The room was kinda dingy and the lamp shades were torn and bath tub looked really yucky. Pulled back the covers and picked up the pillows. Oh my. The pillows were black. Even with the pillow case on them I had a hard time sleeping on them. The frig was filthy. It had hair in it in several places. People upstairs were running and jumping on the floor at 1 0'clock in the morning. Not a place I would consider...
