Wanted to give it a 5. From Wichita but I try every chance I get to come here. Me and my wife even got a tour by the owner’s son before they opened the kitchen. Love the dog, love the beers (was kinda confused by my pour, my wife’s dipa and my beer with less alcohol were suppose to be two different sizes but were the same, no biggie). Then the food. I got the philly - worse philly I’ve ever had. No peppers. Very few onions. Pub cheese was fine. But the meat was horrendous - I couldn’t even tell what it was. One piece seemed like sausage and others like a canned meat. Think it was maybe 6-8” for 14 bucks. Wow. Wife got the blt. It was fine. Nothing special except I think they used a green tomato. Wasn’t a fan of the arugula. Believe it was 12 bucks. Both were sandwiches that shoulda been less than 10 bucks. Got the tomato bisque - it was weird and curdled. Beer was the best part. Now to the service, pretty bad. The original server was fine, then they apparently switched her to go train. Never told us. And waited 25 minutes (during a slow time) waiting on her, all the while we were suppose to talk to another waiter. Love y’all but you gotta do better than this. Menu isn’t big enough to be overwhelmed. And that Philly was basically inedible with mystery meat and at 14 bucks. For a small sandwich. Get it together Salt city friends. I also wouldn’t recommend the cocktails - overpriced and poorly made.
Outside patio and looks of the inside are nice. Nice TVs. Cool upper area. Clean restrooms. Beer and patio - 5 (if yall figure out how to pour a higher abv beer, clearly listed on...
Read moreCame for dinner with son and friends for a graduationnget together. Nice place, we felt rushed 1st of all. The waitress kept asking us if we were ready to order. Appetizers werr barley ordered. We felt like they were trying to get us in and out. When we were ready to order, they didn't have anything we wanted on the menu. I wanted the prime rib sandwich, and another person wanted the prime rib, nope sorry we are out @ 6pm om Saturday. Ok, let's get some wings... nope, we are out. Really? What do you have? The food was good. I got a Reuben. Was pretty good. I was kinda small sandwitch for the price but was enjoyable. Enjoyed the fried pickle sticks. My wife got a big pretzel and was pretty good with beer cheese sauce. We got some chips as well they were ok. Everything was pretty salty, I get it keepmem thirsty. The owner, I guess he was, spoke with one of us and appoligized half heartedly in my opinion and tried to blame the waitress. Didn't think that was cool. Again, I think they were expecting a bigger growed later on and felt rushed, I never even was offered a refill on my drink. Inasked for a to go cup and got it, but guess what, there were out of lids 😆. This maybe a local favorite, but to be out.of so.many food items on an early Friday evening is not good. I'm my opinion. A lot of...
Read moreOur first visit to SCBC as we don't make it out to Hutch real often.. Pretty much what I expected but don't take that the wrong way. They are new, still working on the venue but off to a nice start. Small taproom area, pool table off to the side & a large patio out back. The patio is the most exciting part for me, they've got a real nice vision for a cool atmosphere.. Hope it all works out, should be pretty sweet.
The beer.. Exactly as expected for a couple reasons. They are in Hutchinson, KS (where Natty Light & alike are King) so they have to make beer those folks will hopefully want to "expand their minds" & try. That means light, lager, European style (German) type brews. Completely understandable & I'll give them credit for having 1 beer, a Hazy IPA for folks like me who already enjoy good beer.
I'd recommend, of the current 14 beers on tap that they expand the selection for folks like me who don't need convincing. Not more beers total, but a higher ratio. If you can get CraftBeer nerds to come in & try cool new brews, we generally bring people with us & tend to be the most vocal when discussing local beers/breweries.
Anyway, I'm excited for Hutchinson to have a new option like this. We will definitely be back in the future to see how things are going & hang out...
