Disappointing Experience at Golden Buffet and Grill in Alexandria, VA

Review: I recently dined at Golden Buffet and Grill in Alexandria, VA, and unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations. Regrettably, I can only give this establishment a two-star rating due to several significant issues I encountered during my visit.

First and foremost, the quality of the food was highly disappointing. Not only was much of the food cold upon arrival, but it also lacked taste and freshness. It seemed as though the dishes had been sitting out for an extended period, resulting in a subpar dining experience. The lack of attention to temperature and flavor left a lot to be desired.

The service provided by the waitresses was average at best. While they did their job adequately, I found them to be somewhat lacking in friendliness and enthusiasm. A little more warmth and attentiveness would have gone a long way in improving the overall dining experience.

Furthermore, the restaurant itself had an unpleasant smell, which was off-putting. It significantly impacted the ambiance and made it challenging to fully enjoy the meal. A clean and fresh environment is essential in a dining establishment, and unfortunately, Golden Buffet and Grill did not meet this basic standard.

To add to the disappointment, I arrived at the restaurant around 8:30 PM, well within their operating hours, as they close at 9:30 PM. However, I was dismayed to find that most of the available food options were either old or not available at all. It was disheartening to see empty or depleted trays throughout the buffet, which made it difficult to find a satisfying variety of dishes.

Overall, my experience at Golden Buffet and Grill was quite disappointing. The lack of taste and freshness in the food, coupled with average service, an unpleasant smell, and a lack of available options, left a lot to be desired. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and takes steps to improve the quality and overall dining experience.

Food poisoning experience- food issues, but great service. My husband experienced food poisoning for the first time in his life due to a visit here. One could argue that we can't be 100% sure, but the facts are that we ate the same thing for lunch around noon and went to dinner at Golden Buffet around 7:30. At around 11 or 12 at night he woke up and spent a very long time in the bathroom.

I called the restaurant to share the experience the next day not in an attempt to demand our money back, but hoping the info would be helpful in preventing this for someone else. The girl on the phone was very polite and asked if he was now doing okay, which was very kind. She said the manager was out and would call me back, but I never received a call.

Aside from his food poisoning issue, our first time I chomped into something that seemed extremely hard like plastic or bone in one of the dumplings and did not even attempt to eat them our second visit based on that experience. During this particular visit something that looked like a chopped onion was also hard like plastic. It wasn't burnt looking, but was opaque white and I literally could not poke a hole in it or chop it in half with my fork it was so hard.

I will say that the wait staff is way better than the previous group that worked here when it was the Hibachi buffet. The staff is attentive, friendly, takes plates away quickly and refills drinks often. This place is awful! The people were nice but I LITERALLY WANT TO CRY BECAUSE I JUST WASTED $24.00! Almost everything on the food bar was COLD! There were NO FRIED CHICKEN WINGS!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A BUFFET AND THERE WERE NO FRIED CHICKEN WINGS. THEY HAD FRIED DRUMSTICKS BUT THEY WERE DARK BROWN, OVER COOKED AND DRY! I was actually afraid to eat the whole thing. They had 1 slice of pizza that remained there the entire time me and my grandson was there! THE CHITTERLINGS THEY HAD LITERALLY SMELLED UNCLEAN AND LIKE POOP! I reallly want my money back but you know THESE PLACES DON'T GIVE REFUNDS! So me and my grandson are leaving hungry and really a little sick from the little food we tried to get down ONLY BECAUSE I SPENT $24😖😖Even the Chinese Food was cold and old, yes, saucy, but OLD!
