See Thru Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

Today is one of the many days that I visited this establishment and I pretty much order the same thing which is a chicken and broccoli with bean sprout I asked him to make the chicken well done I place the order at the order window when I was in the restaurant and I get back to my office and there is shrimp fried rice I've ordered this many times and I have to specify to them that I am allergic to shellfish so I immediately called the restaurant to fix the situation and the lady at the window tone had changed I told her there seem to be some mistake I did not order the lunch special with shrimp fried rice maybe the lady that took my order must have misinterpreted me, but I would never order anything that has shrimp in it and instead of fixing the problem the lady told me that I am not your doctor and that I should be mindful of what I order so I've never had a problem out of this establishment ever many times I've went in there but this one time so she told me to pay the difference of $9 for a dinner that didn't contain shrimp fried rice which I felt was wrong because they are not helping my situation at him I just paid $20 and I'm not getting any kind of Customer service at all her tone was condescending and I just wanted to get all my money refunded back when I return back to the restaurant there were people asking me it's just a good place and not to kill the experience I didn't say anything because I didn't want to ruin their experience but I had one lady that walked out with me and said that I overheard the lady talking back to you and you told her that you had allergies and she was not sympathetic to it at all I will not be bringing any business back to them which sucks because they have really good food I paid for what I paid for which was not what I got when my order was ready I didn't expect to pay my money for a side order of...

I usually try not to leave bad reviews but I had a severe allergic reaction from eating from here. Which is unacceptable! I let the lady know over the phone that I was severely allergic to shellfish & peanuts. So that my food would not get cross contaminated with & I even asked did they cook with peanut oil. To which she replied with a rude, “No!” I believed her & preceded to order a small Sweet & Sour Chicken & small Chicken Fried rice. Even though, she was rushing me & was very rude to me I should have not ordered. But I was very hungry after a long day at work. And it gets worse! The delivery driver was extremely rude & called me to tell me to come out side. I did not & told him I did not see him yet. When he finally did come in, he asked me for my credit card very rudely (even though I was charged over the phone), threw my food down, didn’t even say you’re welcome or have a good day when I said thank you & have a good one. The food was good at first, but my throat starting closing up & I was very scared. It lasted all night & I had to use my EpiPen. It could have been worse, I could have died! Typically I’d give this restaurant a descent rating however the last visit was surprisingly horrible to say the least. I traveled from downtown Chicago to the south east side only to receive a burnt order of rice, called in advance to express my concern and when I arrived the cashier wouldn’t allow me to switch my order without paying more for the entire meal. Now I’m no spoiled brat so I didnt mind paying but when I reached for my debit card the cashier stated I couldn’t add on unless the order was over $10.00. Now considering I had to drive all across Chicago to return this order I did expect the restaurant owner to offer at least a cold drink for the inconvenience considering they sold and issued food that was subpar however to not convenience the customer in any way after I addressed my trouble was beyond distasteful. Especially after sharing my discontentment with the food that I’d already paid for and driven across town to pick up. Had I been offered even the slightest regards I’d given this restaurant another shot at it but I still ended up having to come out of pocket and still had flecks of burnt rice in my meal.
