This is such a great addition to Hyde Park! We’ve gone to Bob’s several times now and have tired almost every pizza they have. Every one we’ve gotten has been great! They have unique pizza options that are so good and even the classic options like pepperoni are executed so well. My favorites are the Bob Kim (pictured - sad that it’s limited time because it is so unique and delicious!), Spinach Pesto & Stracciatella, The Original Pickle Pizza (pictured), and Pepperoni. The pepperoni is also great when you add the garlic honey on top. But truly, it’s hard to pick favorites because they’re all very good. The cocktails are very tasty too, with several frozen options that are refreshing. I think the drink options will cover many preferences. For example, if you like sweeter cocktails they have a frozen Irish Coffee Milkshake that’s great and if you like more refreshing or tangy cocktails they have a frozen French 75 and Lavender Fizz. Of course they also have some beers and wine. I used to not order much food beyond the pizza since that is filling already, but after trying the Garlic Parmesan & Herb fries, and the Hot Blue Cheese & Scallions fries, it’s hard not to get them every time (both fries pictured). They’re delicious and only $7! That’s fairly cheap for an appetizer in my opinion. I think it’s also really nice that you can get 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas and get to try more flavors without having to order a full pizza of each one. They also have that amazing Happy Hour deal during the week where you can buy one pizza and get another free. Also, the prices of the pizza are very reasonable to me. I thought at first I might be overspending, but really two slices is very filling and my boyfriend hasn’t been able to eat more than three slices at a time. So even though it’s thin crust, you really get a full and satisfying meal. I’ve never ordered anything from here that I didn’t enjoy a lot! Dine in, takeout, and delivery have all been great for us - the pizzas hold up well.
Aside from the food, the place itself has a great atmosphere and is painted/decorated really cool. The service is also great. The servers are very kind and attentive! I hope more and more people discover Bob’s because it’s an all around great place to dine and I hope it stays in Hyde Park for...
Read moreThey changed the menu. The pizza was overwhelmingly greasy and not fully cooked in the center. My disabled sibling was excited to order the blue cheese and shallot fries. No longer on the menu. Instead their odd love of chicken nuggets got me to order them the "oven baked chicken nuggets". they looked like they were fresh from the freezer and were heavily browned on bottom. my sibling didn't want me "bullying" bob's pizza by being honest said "they weren't burnt and didn't make their hands messy. they gave me the right sauce for my nuggets. maybe kids would like them. they gave us the right sauce which is better than no sauce or wrong sauce." this is the best praise they could give.
not sure the dough is the same, doubt it but again undercooked. just the sausage pizza soaking with grease til the chese was orange.
the fried pickles from the pickle pizza gone. a good use for unused pickles. east, IF they were making the breaded chicken nuggets. are they? no more char on the bottom of pizzas. the shallot fries.
to be fair the toppings are still good, but a fat cry from what they were. it was a few
i understand they seem to be struggling but this is far from what they were. they were one of the best pizzas i've had, matching real brick oven pizza at a higher price point. and they...
Read moreI came with 4 other people. Since it was during the period for BOGO, we ordered 4 pizzas: wild mushrooms, meatball, sausage, and spinach/pesto/prosciutto. All were excellent. Crust was flavorful, super thin, crispy, but not cardboard. Very light because made with beer for leavening. All elements of each pizza were well balanced. Not drowning in cheese. Wonderful sauces with just the right amount of almost everything, except I was wishing for more arugula on the spinach pizza. Our server was very patient while we asked about the different pizzas. He provided great service and was very pleasant. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer. Perfect balance of crispy, sweet, sour, and parmesan. Neither the Brussels sprouts nor any of the pizzas was overly salty so the real flavors of each ingredient could come through in layers.
The beers and wine had not yet been delivered (restaurant is newly open), so we did not order alcohol. Mixed drinks were available. All pizzas here are 16". The crust is so thin that these comfortably serve 3. Seating is deep booths and tall tables with high stools, but not so high that short people have to hop up to sit on them. (I am 5'2".) We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and do...
