I will keep this short. I went one day and got a 10 wing special. When I got home I realized it was a 10 wing pigeon special. Wings were the smallest I have ever seen but tasted ok. I decided to go back 2 days later and got a wing/catfish special. Got home and the food was so salty I couldn't eat it. I called the next day and explained to the person who answered the phone. She asked me if I had the receipt. I told her I had to look for it but didn't want my money back. I just wanted to exchange it for the same thing without the excess salt. She said I had to call back the next morning to talk to "him". Because she wasn't there it was nothing she can do. I've never been somewhere in which you have to explain yourself to I suppose a manager or owner in order to get food that was edible that wS already paid for. Now, I am expected to wait another day to "maybe" get my food exchanged for something edible. I dont know what her being there has to do with my food being replaced because it was inedible. No thanks, I tried I will be going somewhere else. If a customer still has the food and states it is to salty to eat and wants it exchanged I would think this to be common customer service and not a process. I paid for my food last night and still can't eat it. This customer is straight. Too many Harold's in the city for me to go back and forth with any one of them who wish to serve food that...
Read moreAfter traveling on the road for 21 hours for my brother's college graduation, we decided to stop in Chicago to rest and get some good harolds chicken. This particular harolds was the worst restaurant experience I've ever encountered. First arriving couldn't find anyone to take my order. Knocked on the glass looking for someone. When they came to the window they told me there would be an hour wait for chicken. I wanted to pay and come back, but they wouldn't accept payment because they didn't know if it would be longer for chicken to be done. I came back after 1.5 hour and still waited 25 minutes for my 2 10 pcs wing orders. When we finally started to eat the wings didn't taste like harolds known flavor. It was like an original chicken at KFC with mild sauce on it. It taste like deli fried chicken at a grocery store. It was burnt tasting and greasy and the flavor was not harolds. It's like they went and bought chicken somewhere else and put mild sauce on it. I'm a chef so I understand restaurants being behind or running out of food. I mean just close the store don't sell something that doesn't taste right to paying customers expecting the unique flavors of harolds. So very disappointed with the staff, management and owners. They need to do better, especially if they taking people money. Give people what...
Read more1st and foremost they charge you for sauce. Not extra sauce. This is Harolds Chicken and they charge to put ANY sauce on the chicken or fries. RIDICULOUS! The customer service is horrible as the older woman that’s usually at the register needs lessons on how important greeting customers is. They have a bunch of rules of what payments they accept and what payments they don’t. Signs that no refund will be provided for sauce so “be careful “ how you order. The typical black owned business that will open and because of the below average product accompanied by the below average customer service, will be closed within the next year or so. Let’s clean it up if you want the support of the people in this community. WE have to do so much better when opening these restaurants. Harolds has competition all up and down 87th. They will be closed soon if they don’t address these issues....
