Update based in reply from the store owner: I wished that I believed what your reply said but but I simply do not, look at all thr negative reviews please take it serious because it's so easy to be here today and gone tomorrow type of business but I would like to see this place thrive but not like this. You guys know damn well that young man shouldn't be taking anyone's order he isn't friendly at all and he doesn't know what he is doing.
I am extremely disappointed!! My 1st experience was good because someone who is African order for me. I got okra soup, egusi soup, fufu with 2pcs of goat meat. I really enjoyed it I paid about $25 I got a small bowl which was clear then a white bowl. Now let's talk about today experience that made me never to return to this place. Foret off the young man at the front register isn't any help at all he he doesn't know what he's doing as far as helping the customer with the dishes to choose from. I say this because the website is confusing and doesn't explain well. I am an African American woman and this resturant is in a predominantly African American neighborhood. How come it isn't simplied. For the same meal he wanted to charge me $40+ dollars ain't no way. I just got okra soup and fufu so that was $22+ which was a damn rip off. I got very little okra soup and a bunch of cow fit or what ever it is because it's just big really tough and full of gristle. I'm so disappointed there was also another male there who didn't help at all he knew we were struggling but never came to assist. I told all of my friends and family about this resturant especially since it's in the neighborhood we all grown up in for over 40+ years. I will never parronize this place again. When you show me not once but twice that you could care less to help me a paying customer then you don't deserve my hard own money. You all just lost a customer for life but also you all lost potentially 30+ customers because word of mouth is everything. I had so many people hyped to come here and after my review on social media they will not come because they trust me. I am always looking out for the greater good. I wish they respected their customers enough to know not everyone is going to...
Read moreI went for the first time. And this was my experience....The lady at the counter was not forth coming with an explanation about menu because I had no clue. She just handed me the QR code to pull the menu up. And when I asked a question about one of the items on the menu, She told me all the menu items are not at the location I was currently at. WOW! but okay. I initially ordered the beef pattie or meat pie and a Ting. But I was very curious about the food on display, She told me they have rice plate for $15.99 and you can add an extra meat dish for $16.99. I was like cool let me get the one with 2 options. Basically she gave me 2 pieces of meat. A goat piece and a chicken piece. Which I wish I would have taken a pictures of, cause the portion was so small. Anyhoo...I got it back to the office and the meat was sooooooo tough!!!!! I mean a fork was not getting thru it. I used a kitchen metal fork now and the meat fought me. Both small pieces. And I couldn't tell what part of the chicken I was eating so I just threw it away and saved the rice. I paid $24.88 for a dry beef pattie and a plate of rice (because the meat was inedible). Oh lets not forget the Ting. This is ridiculous and horrible! I wish I could get a refund. So I just brought the rice home, made some shrimp in my air fryer and some left over veggies from last nights dinner. Needless to say I won't...
Read moreI’m a Vegetarian. I called and asked if the egusi and efo soup is served with meat. The lady said only if you get a combo. If it’s just a side order it does NOT come with meat. I said great, so there will be NO MEAT if I just purchase the SIDE ORDERS. She said correct no meat unless it’s a combo.🤦🏽♀️ You guys, she failed to mention the soups were cooked with meat!!! You don’t get a large portion like you would if you ordered the combo, but the soups have meat in it smh , so I had to throw it away. I then tried the Jollof rice! It was hard and tasted like burnt popcorn. I tried to give this place a chance despite all the horrible reviews and even called to clarify I can actually get the meal with no meat and it was such a horrible choice to purchase from them. $60 dollars down the drain. The reviews are correct you guys, don’t waste your money...
