Oh my word, these folks know how to throw down in the kitchen. We had chicken JerkGOD tacos, JerkGOD Loaded fries, and a sample of the coconut rice and the JerkGOD 3 Cheese Mac. Let me start my saying your tastebuds are in for a treat. Everything is fresh and super flavorful. The spiciness is spot on perfect, you get some heat and tingle on your lips but the flavor is not compromised one bit and the heat never takes over. It takes a really good chef to get the heat and flavor combo balanced just right and they do it perfectly. The chicken tacos come with crispy fresh veggies, the corn tortilla is crispy just the right amount and still foldable and the chicken is packed in there. Let me tell you about that chicken. It has that Jerk sweetness going on along with the flavors of being grilled on a flame. You start smelling that the moment you walk in the door, so that's when you know you're in for a superb meal. The chicken isn't dried out one bit, still juicy and jam packed with flavor. The man and cheese has this sweet and smoky cheese sauce that I've never tasted before. You can totally tell someone made that fresh. Nothing here tastes processed or out of a box. The coconut rice is so amazingly good I can't even describe it beyond telling you my wife doesn't like coconut and she ate hers with a quickness she loved it so much. Now the logistics.... I'm not from Chicago, we're in town for volunteer work, but I will 100% make this joint a stop each time I come back and I don't care how far I have to drive. We happen to be staying close by so it was perfect for us. For those of you who live here, I am jealous y'all get to come here whenever you want. If you're from here and haven't dropped in, you need to. You will not be disappointed. They have a parking lot and street parking so it's an easy in and out, so no problems there. You can even order ahead so it's ready. That reminds me, this isn't fast food. That means it's going to take a minute to get your food. That's a good thing since it means your food is made after you order it. When you take a bite, you'll taste the freshness and any amount of time you waited or drove here will be 100% worth it The folks who work here are friendly and helpful with recommendations. It's kinda like stopping by a friends house when you walk in, all friendly and welcoming. I can go on, but I need to stop so I can finish my tacos. FH JerkGOD, y'all are awesome. Keep on making the world a better place with your superb food....
Read moreHi, my name is Peyten and I’m a huge Chicago foodie. I truly enjoyed my food. I ordered the three cheese mac & cheese, which was very well seasoned and cheesy with lots of jerk spices but not overly salty or soupy. I then had the Alfredo, which was so good creamy rich and flavorful. I didn’t get tired of it as it had so many flavors to expand my pallet. Then I ordered the tacos on lunch special only $10. The tacos were delicious and they come with a drink very flavorful. The chicken isn’t overcooked very tender with lots of spices but not overly spice so good it’s also a kind of a sophisticated upscale taco with the spring mix and fresh farm cherry tomatoes. I love love loved the food. I have now referred three people who have gone since and...
Read moreMy family wanted to try this place as we LOVE jerk food and have previously struggled to find a good place to frequent. We came around lunch time and ordered a few things to try: the three taco lunch special, corn , eggs rolls and the salad with lamb chops. It totaled around $58 which I think is reasonable if it comes with good food which it was AMAZING. The eggrolls had the perfect soft inside with a nice crunch to the outside. The corn was roasted to perfection with a little kick. And the jerk chicken itself was fresh, marinated well, tender, juice and spicy. The salad had the perfect mix of ingredients even our two year old and seven year old enjoyed the food. I believe the name is quite fitting because whoever the chef is; they indeed are...
