I gave this location a second chance by actually dining in this time, and needless to say they bombed even worse than the first time. The other reviews about the deplorable customer service at this location are spot on.
Myself and 3 friends dined in last night. For starters, the server that helped us (I did not get her name as she did not identify herself) was EXTREMELY rude. She didn't greet us, tell us her name, and overall had a very bad disposition. This was made even more evident when we attempted to use the gift card that you provided to me.
That is when things took a very bad turn.
The server came back to us and told us that we could not use said gift card at that location, even when I explained that it was a gift card issued from the corporate office. She then went and got her manager, Katia Bueno, Katia is the primary and only reason why I will never set foot in that location again, and why I will advise others of the same. She acted as if she didn't want to hear what I had to say regarding the gift card, refused to accept it saying that "the system was down" (even though that location could accept debit and credit cards), had an even nastier attitude than the server, and could've cared less about us as customers.
She then angrily wrote down her name and order information then came back to our table, gave it to us and told us to call corporate again. We were beyond floored at the way we were treated....over a $10 gift card.
I will not be dining there again, and neither will the individuals that dined with me. Leona's lost 4 potentially good customers last night based on the actions of two...
Read moreMe and 11 friends decided to return to Leona's for the first time since the pandemic. Not only has the ownership/management changed but so has their business model. The notion of standing at a desk while a new and poorly trained employee enters your order into a computer is asinine.
Beyond the ordering "system" is the fact that the employee charged me for each item that was supposed to be included in the dinner. When I brought this to his attention he called himself apologizing by saying "This is the way the owners have the system set up." The on-duty manager explained to him that he had entered the order incorrectly and corrected his error.
The quality of the food was very disappointing. My minestrone soup was lukewarm and bland. My chicken tenders were much smaller than two of my friends' orders. Also, a couple of my potato wedges were not fully cooked. There were 12 of us and the last order was received after the other 11 had finished their meals.
Before the pandemic we would go to Leona's every month after our chapter meeting. Not only will we no longer support this restaurant but we will discourage all of our family, friends, and neighbors from supporting Leona's until they change their business model and...
Read moreAbsolutely awful experience. I've spent thousands of dollars here as a local patron of this restaurant. Nobody should eat here anymore. It has gone REALLY downhill. I ordered one of my regular orders for delivery, and the deliveryperson lied to me and my wife over text and phone claiming he attempted to deliver but couldn't gain access to the building. I was already in the lobby waiting, so I know that was a lie. Can't access my building? It's an open building with a concierge. Nobody ever seemed to have a problem delivering until today. Luis is a liar, and I cannot believe he's allowed to withold his name when asked despite claiming to be the manager/owner/founder of Leona's. I don't know who he thinks he is and I don't know what anyone was thinking putting him in charge, but that was a huge mistake. Mistakes happen, orders don't get delivered - I get it. What I will not tolerate is being lied to, being hung up on, being talked over, and being gaslit by a local restaurant. Hyde Park can do better than this place. Absolutely...
