Nathan's Chicago Style — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

The food here is so good and very close to my house but I will never go back because it’s always irritating to deal with them. This place doesn’t charge for ketchup but does charge for mild sauce. In Chicago mild sauce is the equivalent of ketchup to Black residents it, so this is effectively a “Black tax”. Furthermore, they don’t ask if you want mild sauce before they ring you out. They then ask if you want any condiments when they are packing your carry out and if you say “mild sauce” and you’ve paid with a card they will say they can’t ring it in because the price is too small. I don’t even want the dryazz fries anymore at that point. Another time I ordered a side salad and gyros online. I requested that my salad have no cheese on it. I get home and my gyros has no tzatziki and my salad has cheese on it. This place refuses to give me...

Normally i order the italian combo. tonight i had a taste for chilli dogs & chilli fries. when i called in to place my order i was quoted a price of $8 and some change including delivery. it took 45 minutes (when i was clearly told 15) for my food to get here. when the delivery guy got here he told me my total was $10.78. I expressed to him that i was quoted a different price and then i called in to see was there a mix up. i was told that he thought i only wanted 1 chilli dog. which was a lie because if you thought i only ordered 1 then why would you send 2? the men then proceeded to tell me that he wasnt gonna honor the price i was quoted so i sent the food back. 11 dollars for 2 chilli dogs & fries is outrageous. they have horrible customer service and i will not be ordering from them...

Disgusting. I just bought 2 chilli dogs w/ fries. Some guy comes from the back after being called and barely washed his hands and dropped old fries for 30 seconds that had been sitting there in a basket for a while. Next loads the fries and grabs them by the top with his whole nasty hand covering my old, reheated fries and places them in the window! The cashier who seem to be his brother grabbed my fries the same exact way. The condiments are uncovered. The back service table was dirty and a mess. I don't see how this place is open!. I live in the area for over a year and wanted to give this place a try but I couldn't eat the food they gave me. I just politely took it and threw it in the trash. I will never go here again...theres too many quality restaurants in the area...
