Been coming here more then 5 plus years from even when they used to go by another name : Tacozan. Food does justice when hungry, some days it’s a hit or miss. But Todays meal was the WORST I’ve ever gotten. It was so bad I had to take time out my day to write this review. Of all the times I’ve ordered Queretaco’s I’ve NEVER had any problems with their Quesa-Birria tacos. Usually it’s crispy on the outside, dipped , and meat tender insides with the melted cheese.
I think they may have gotten younger cooks and cashiers as of recent. The quality of the food has gone down in just a weeks time. I came last week and the birria tacos I received were cooked to PERFECTION.
Today it’s not the same story. Please Keep the same cooks because the meal I received was horrible. Literally just sprinkled cheese on top of the birria meat (which was DRY as ever inside and in a lump ) and put in a limp corn tortilla. Nothing else. Please examine these pictures for proof. The cook/cooks didn’t even try to make these how birria’s are suppose to be made. It was so poorly presented I couldn’t even eat it. I placed my order at 7:30 on 07-27-2024 and came to pick it up at 8pm on the dot. Just because it’s near closing time DO NOT just give PAYING customers whatever just to get them out the door.
EDIT: went back on 08/03/2024, twice. First time to see if I would get a birria cooked right. Birria’s were back good, crispy, and melt in your mouth. A bit greasy one of them were but how I’m accustomed to getting. So good, I came back an hour later for more lol I raised my original 2 star to 3 star.
Yeah whoever was cooking closing shift on 07-27-24, ppl work hard for their money, stop playing with ppls food. The audacity to wrap something stale barely cooked, no type of effort made to make it edible to eat for a paying repeat...
Read moreone of the best mexican places in all of chicago. despite some claiming that chicago is somehow the best city for mexican food (a claim that seems just rather delusional and not up to my experience as i have tried almost ten different mexican places across the city and all have been not only bad but some of the worst food i have had in my life), this is the only place that comes close to the mexican food i've had in places like los angeles and atlanta that are without any critique or flaw.
it's biggest plus is that it's cheap: $5 quesadillas, $8 burritos, $5 tortas... for the price it is amazing food for almost every menu item! birria is not the best birria but it's still a 9/10, quesadillas are delicious, so is the chicken burritos and tacos. the american food should be passed on as well as ordering inside; it can get crowded and the teenage boy that works to hand people their orders can be mean and downright unlikeable. the young woman who usually takes the orders (specifically over the phone) is a lot nicer and sweeter. she doesn't talk down to customers the same way the young boy does which, even if you're not at the end of his apathy or intolerance, is uncomfortable to be around.
regardless, don't let some teenager ruin a chance at some actually authentic and cheap mexican food. order ahead to skip the line and tense atmosphere and enjoy your...
Read more-Doordash Delivery on 07/26/2024 For Mya. Before placing a order through doordash 30 minutes before closing, I called because the app doesn’t show an option to add cheese on the tacos. The phone was busy. I paid for sides of sour cream put in the notes to replace sour cream with cheese on tacos. I kept calling to see if they can see the notes at least a rude young lady picked up the phone with so much attitude as if im bothering her at her job?.. I explain to her the situation she LIES and says the tacos have cheese on them and they didnt. The bag on the order clearly says someone else name & they passed it off to me! Her responses were nasty and unwelcoming If you want better service and respect its plenty of taco...
