Stony Sub — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

Went today while on a visit to my mom's home. Wanted a jim shoe sandwich. Low and behold, they sold them. We also had the bacon cheese burger, Italian beef dipped w/ hot peppers and cheese, and a gyro. All were meals meaning you get fries and a can pop. They actually put the condiments of your Choice on your fries. We got 2 plain, 1 w/ ketchup and 1 w/ ketchup hot sauce salt and pepper (mine)😁 the service was fast but they only take cash. There's an atm in the restaurant which I thought was nice since I was from out of town and didn't have enough cash on me. They even have a breakfast menu with nice specials and deals. We will check it out next time go see my mom. We ALL agreed that the food was really good. It smelled good tasted good and even looked good. We will definitely be going back and now my will be going there after today's experience with this restaurant. Good job! Keep up...

The food is good and always fresh. However the service is horrible and needs improvement. I reside out of state and traveled an hour from our hotel just to get my husband a gym shoe sub. I ordered a Italian beef with cheese. The cheese was buried under the meat to the point I assumed they forgot to add it. Both myself and the manager had to literally take the meat off the sandwich to get to the cheese. Obviously, this is unacceptable and not enough cheese. I don't care about the price I have to pay for the cheese but make sure it's enough I complained but was disrespected so I returned the sandwich and I received a refunded. However, after speaking with the manager about the incident, he agreed to give me a free sandwich. I will give them another try. I don't want the free sandwich I just want my sandwich to be prepared...

Ordered the gym shoe sandwiches and this is probably one of the best gym shoes I've had ngl. 9.2 comes with tons of meat... gyro, corn beef, roast beef, giardiniera, mayo, gyro sauce, onion, cheese, lettuce n tomatoes. This sandwich will have you making a mess as this sandwich it's stuffed with topping which I didn't mind. Came with a side of fries they asked what I wanted on them...salt, pepper n mild sauce plus a pop of your choice. There is an ATM inside but it is hit or miss if this mofo working thou. Overall this is straight-to-the-point joint serving all the traditional Chicago foods just with a little better quality imo. But your experience...
