First time trying under new management was on Friday, December 16. I ended up getting the 4 wings and 2 pc catfish special. First red flag was that with the 2 pc catfish, only comes in fillet. It's very obvious to me that this J and J Fish and Chicken is selling swai fish as catfish. Why can't I get the catfish with bones in it? Real catfish is more expensive than chicken wings but with some of those "deals" it's cheaper to get catfish? This is not the first time I've seen this deceptive practice. I had to pay extra for steak pieces which is fine. Although, that doesn't necessarily insure that it's USDA catfish either. Swai comes in steak as well. Beware. Swai is imported and not regulated by USDA. Not only are the prices high enough already, you might not even be getting what you think you're getting. Now the food was cooked very fresh. But again I was highly suspicious of the catfish that I received. The pieces were quite small and a little too breaded and had some type of perfumed scent that I couldn't explain. I decided that I can't trust the fish but this can be my go to wing spot. But before I left a review I returned again on Monday, December 19. Let me see if they're consistent. I ordered the whole chicken wings only this time. Needless to say, although I know it was cooked fresh just not the same as before. The cook can make all the difference in the world. The first cook was an older man and he can throw down. He know how to fry it up right. I notice that the second time it was a younger man who was on the register the first time. Well, they need to leave him on the register because he didn't cook the wings right, they were overall too soggy. I don't typically request fried hard. I just want it fried right. I didn't bother to complain because once it gets to that point, I don't need to be...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can say Iāve been going to this J&Jās since I was 6-7 years old. Im 23 now in Med school. Would literally vouch to all my family and friends thats this was the best J&Js in the city. Literally would never go to anyone else no matter where in town I was. Came back to the south side to visit parents and decided to stop by since their open now. Firstly, the prices are more higher. I literally would eat this everyday and come to this side of town just for a shrimp dinner. The price previously was $11.10 for a small shrimp. Now itās $15+ and its less shrimp and barely fries. I asked for bread they did not put any in there after the lady said she would make sure. They tried to charge me a $1.00 for an āextraā sauce. The lady told me āitās just a dollar I cant give you anything for freeā and tried to argue me up and down. Iāve have been there over 100 times and never had got asked to pay more upon sauce request. I even would let them keep my change for a tip. Literally done gave them so much money over the years just for a tip! It just ashamed how people can come into our neighborhood and treat us so poorly. I will not be back. They gave me a few shrimps and like 9 fries literally. No bread. And had the nerve to ask me to pay more for a sauce. I cannot support this business anymore. The cashier was just trifling and...
