📍 465 E Anderson St. Idaho Falls, ID 83401 We tried the French dip sandwich (loved it!), tater kegs, and wings. They also serve Farr's Ice Cream. #eastidahoadventures #eastidaho #offtherailscafe #idahofallseats #eastidahoeats #eastidahorestaurants #idahofallsrestaurants

I went here twice in once week. I ate here for lunch to try the place and I was impressed. I got the deluxe chicken sandwich with waffle fries. It was reasonably priced and I thought it was good. I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting the chicken to be a chicken patty, similar to what you’d get at a grocery store. I was thinking more of a hand battered type of chicken tender. But it was still good! I then came back with my wife. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger with the onion rings. They don’t charge extra for the onion rings, which I thought was cool. The burger was my wife’s favorite part of the meal. It’s not mentioned on the menu, but it’s actually a DOUBLE bacon cheeseburger. The burger and chicken sandwich has nice large buns. The onions were very good. We also ordered the loaded waffle fries. Loaded means bacon chunks and shredded cheese. These weren’t our favorite because they were quite fry, maybe from being cooked and then baked to melt the cheese? Maybe nacho cheese would help here. We also got the mozzarella sticks, which I enjoyed. Excellent cheese pull. I recommend dipping them in the ranch. Lastly, we got a dozen chicken wings. We had the option to split the dozen wings to have two different types of sauce. We had mango habanero and Buffalo. I was pleasantly surprised. These wings were my favorite of everything I tried. They were crispy, but not too crispy you couldn’t tell the bone from meat. The inside was moist and the chicken and sauce was great. $11 for 12 traditional wings, that’s a great deal anywhere. I also want to mention that on Google, it shows this place as a coffee shop, not a restaurant. So I hope that gets updated, so people can find this place easier. The inside is nice enough and they have a pool table and TVs. We will be definitely coming back. I recommend Off The Rails Cafe.

My family and I went here a few weeks back. I’ll start this review with the things I likes most then work my way down to the things that weren’t the best at this establishment. 1st off the employees were amazing, so friendly and polite. They helped answer any and all questions we had. I also like the fact that they had ice cream lol as for the atmosphere and setting. The pool table was a lot of fun and my daughter got to play pool for the first time. The seating…… kinda looks like a middle school child made it for a school project but it works for what it was intended for. The food… I don’t know how not to be blunt about it so I’ll just say it. It’s not the best. Was way heavy on the seasoning on all burger and other food we ordered. Everything was just … off …. I won’t personally be back and my wife agrees. There are better options with better locations and food for the same cost. I love supporting local businesses but when I can’t finish my food, yeah. I mean it’s edible, I think, but not great.

Came here the other day for the first time. We were just driving by from out of town and stopped in. It's a counter-order, self seating kind of place. The food was rather good, but not exceptional. I got the spicy jam burger special, and it had some good flavors. The bun didn't seem to be your standard off-the-shelf type bun, which was good, but the downside is that it had completely disintegrated half way through my burger, rendering the rest of my meal virtually inedible. Would have practically needed a spoon. My wife got the philly, which looked good, and she enjoyed. The waffle fries were good, but nothing exceptional. Fry sauce was good. In all, it wasn't bad. I would probably rate it 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that our meal was $40 for two adults and a kid, and I didn't even get a drink. Really not outrageous, it was just a little unexpected. The other downside is the condition of some of the dining area. I about fell through my booth twice (I'm only 160 lbs, not a big dude). The top wasn't fastened to the frame at all and was just floating around, waiting for someone to fall in. Haven't ever had that happen at a restaurant before... I can't say I'll be back, but I don't regret trying it out and wouldn't hesitate to recommend people at least give it a shot. I just think there are better options in the area, especially...

My Husband and I were passing through and had driven 5 hours from Montana, were starving and craving burgers. Luckily the place google recommended was closed because we found “Off the Rails” instead. The signage outside was easy to see and the waitresses greeted us with smiles, were friendly and helpful. We were surprised and delighted to hear that their burgers are double patties!! We ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with straight cut fries, and the bacon and jam burger with onion rings.(We ended up splitting the burgers so we could each try them.) They offer multiple beverages options including fountain drinks and a nice assortment of beers. My husband opted for lemonade and I went with a Twisted Tea, the chef cut a lime at my request and it was delivered immediately! The burgers came quickly and were cooked perfectly, they were juicy and flavorful!! The fries were lightly seasoned and my onion rings were crisp and AMAZING! We went with the house fry sauce and asked for more!! Both burgers were equally delicious and we somehow arrived at happy hour so I received a second Twisted Tea for free! Overall our experience was amazing. It’s a clean, adorable, friendly and surprisingly roomy restaurant that we will continue to talk about with anyone who will listen. If you live in the area or are passing through, please stop in, you won’t...
