OneZo Boba — Restaurant in Idaho Falls

I would like to say that I am disappointed for various reasons. Yesterday was my first time being here. I ordered the “Taro Paste Smoothie” and asked if there was a lactose free option and I was told yes, but I wasn’t told that it was $0.50 more. I don’t really care because it’s not much but I think it’s proper to make any person aware of that additional charge.

Secondly, there was no boba in my drink. I came to a boba place and it’s automatically assumed that the drink will come with boba. Boba is literally in the name of the store. Just like any other location I’ve ever been to, they assume I want boba or at least ask. I wasn’t even asked if I wanted boba in my drink and as I sat and read reviews while waiting of how it was made fresh and in-store I was excited to try it just to be disappointed when I received my drink.

Thirdly, I don’t think the flavor of the taro smoothie was bad because I absolutely love taro but the texture was a bit odd. I don’t think my drink was made properly as there were huge frozen chunks of taro paste in my drink and huge pieces of ice. I’ve never had a smoothie that wasn’t “smooth.” You would think that a smoothie is blended very well but my drink clearly wasn’t. I attached a picture to show how big the chunks of ice were and the leftover taro paste at the bottom of the drink. I had issues drinking the smoothie because of how big the chunks of ice were. The ice would get stuck to the opening at the bottom of the straw as I would try to drink through the straw. This didn’t allow me to enjoy my drink and was extremely annoying. I would like to also note that when I received my drink I was told to shake it well and I made sure to shake it thoroughly and I still had this issue.

The one and only shop that claims to be from Taiwan and tastes just as good but in Taiwan they only have like one shop that’s not even comparable to other boba shops in Taiwan. What an embarrassment really. Drinks here are overly sweet I couldn’t even finish it, bad after taste that it gave me an ache, and wait time was ridiculously long for how empty the shop was. They have a station where they make fresh boba but it’s so plain and boring. Isn’t the whole point there is to see people making boba right in front of you? Instead, there was no one.

Edit* In response to the response, yes, I did stopped in when your store was a lot newer and I came back because my first experience was alright. I used that photo to let you know I was there before and after you changed your interior. Nonetheless, not much of a change either way with some greens and painted walls. That’s not the point here. The point was your drinks were too sugary and I waited a long time for two drinks when no one was in the store. Two drinks I had to toss away and waited 30 minutes for.

Onezo only having one location in Taiwan doesn’t say much. I’m Taiwanese myself and I know. Funny that you mentioned your products are imported goods because aren’t most products in America are? LOL! Im just a customer who left an honest review. Take it or leave it. Well,...

We decided to try this place out since it's right next to our normal boba place. The esthetic is super cute and it has a very cozy feeling. Unfortunately the drinks and food were not the same. The brown sugar boba tea tasted like unsweetened iced tea. There was zero brown sugar flavor. When I asked the girl at the counter for a side of brown sugar syrup because there was no flavor she responded with "Hmm that's weird because I made them right" as she proceeded to hand me a cup of syrup. The waffle was good but a little burnt. Which they knew because the other girl behind the counter could be heard saying "it's not about taste, it's about the presentation". Needless to say, I won't be returning and will be sticking with our original boba place around the corner.

Since I can't comment back to the owner who replied below, I can assure you I got the flavor normal sweet. So unfortunately the drinks were either made incorrectly or the drinks just aren't good. And as for the waffle, I know what was said and the product we received was burnt. Definitely will not be returning but thank you for your offer. I know good help is hard to find but customer service is a must and we experienced very poor customer service. We wish...
