*** Update! After being here a few more times, Sushi Time in IF has really grown on me. We had a really fun server, Arden, who was such a good sport putting up with me and my noisy group of girls. The sushi and appetizers etc are a pretty consistent quality and there are a lot of choices… The Tai, Albacore, and Shrek nigiri are my favorites. The gyoza and crab rangoon are yummy, and the World War II and Superman rolls are awesome. I apologize to anyone else who may have been annoyed by my party’s noise and antics… I didn’t expect the gong to be so loud! A solid 4 stars - had a girls night out on a Saturday night recently. I had never been here before. I did the all you can eat option and wished I had ordered more on my initial order, but I was trying to not overdo it because they charge you for too much uneaten sushi. I was able to order and eat about $50 worth of food from their menu, so the all you can eat option was worth it. Actually I would have ordered one more nigiri choice, but didn’t want to wait for it. I got one specialty roll, the Gohan. I did not like the huge amount of fried onions on top, but there was no issue with leaving a small pile of those. It was a decent item, not great, but enjoyable. The fried gyoza were good. I mostly focused on the nigiri sushi and tried the Shrek (yum!), the Hamachi (yellowtail) which was actually disappointing. Yellowtail is usually my favorite. The Tai (red snapper) was surprisingly fabulous and my favorite item of all. The salmon was meh but better than the yellowtail, and the Inari was a little meh too. The little cup of cookies and cream ice cream was enjoyable. Service was quite slow because the sushi chefs were very bogged down with orders. I guess it was pretty busy, though it didn’t seem busy or crowded to me, but maybe that was just bc my party was confined to a nice round booth so we didn’t notice the other tables much at all. The slow service was forgivable because we had a very friendly server who tried to be funny and do his best to give us a good time. The sushi quality - honestly not the best sushi ever. Blue Hashi and Fuji are better. The rice under my fish nigiri kept falling apart when picked up. It’s not supposed to do that. I had probably one more item that I can’t remember. I would absolutely give them another shot or two or three before I make up my mind as to whether they deserve another star, as maybe some nights are better than others. Overall enjoyable, and good enough quality that you can get your moneys worth and be happy with your meal. Next time I want to try more specialty rolls.

Probably my favorite AYCE sushi place. Really great atmosphere and setup, but more importantly it's delicious. At $20 for a dinner AYCE special, you get access to *pretty much* the entire menu and you certainly get your money's worth. With hand rolls, long rolls, dessert rolls, specially rolls, and normal rolls (And even quail egg if you're into that, I suppose), you have a good enough selection for anyone into seafood. On the menu, their mango things taste incredible. I personally would steer clear of the scallop, as, Idaho Falls not being a port town, it's not the freshest thing in the world. The scallop mix, however, is incredible. I also always get an order of miso with it, which is enjoyable. In addition to the food, the service is always great. We even had a server who was working her first day there and she was phenomenal (Clara, specifically). Constantly willing to right wrongs, checking in often, and being pleasant overall makes it ideal customer service and a true model. In addition to all of this, the speed is impressive. It always takes some time to get rolls out for your first set of rolls (I think we waited 30-45 mins), but afterwards the time cuts down a lot. The fastest was one roll that came out in under a minute. Super impressive stuff. Come on down, tip your server, tip your chef (Ring the gong hard when you do, harder than you think is polite, it's way fun). Have a fun time here. Tl;dr: Would entirely recommend this place. Bring your friends and family. Don't eat the quail (It's a super acquired taste lol). Post pics if you go!

I mean, it was fine. Considering that I'm smack dab in the pacific northwest, it'll pass. Is Sushi Time my favorite place for AYCE sushi? Well, no. But in their defense, I was born and raised in Hawai'i and sushi just doesn't get better than fishing it out of the ocean. The quality of the fish was okay. Actually, maybe a little better than I expected for living somewhere thousands of miles away from the nearest ocean. I am usually the type of person to never order rolls at a sushi restaurant but this time around, I kind of wish I did. The nigiri had very thinly sliced pieces of fish and an overwhelming amount of rice. In fact, I ended up pushing my rice to the side after a few pieces and adding it to my miso soup at the end. It was the only thing I could think of doing so I wasn't wasteful. The fried gyoza was okay as well. Nothing special. You may be wondering - how were the baked mussels? And to that I say, "Meh!" The sauce was severely lacking in flavor. The salmon skin hand roll was hands-down my favorite part of the meal. I definitely recommend it. Crispy pieces of salmon skin matched with unagi sauce and seasoned cucumbers...yes, please! It also had a lot less rice than the nigiri pieces. If you're looking to satisfy a sushi craving in Idaho Falls, Sushi Time can help do that. If you're looking for the best sushi of your life...maybe do a little more research.

Went to dinner with my mom tonight. I got the all you can eat sushi. Our server had to leave shortly after ordering our food. We got our appetizers just fine and it was all great up until then. We got a new server because the original had to leave. We waited 30 minutes for our sushi to come out. Turns out our order wasn’t even put in so we had to wait a few more minutes. I ordered another piece of sushi later and. I had approximately 9 pieces of sushi left and asked for a box. The serve told me it would be an extra charge for not finishing all but 3 pieces of sushi. She even apologized for this information not being relayed to us before ordering. The new server didn’t even know that I was the only one with the all you can eat sushi order until I told her. I told her I wouldn’t have even ordered my last sushi roll if I had known about the policy of finishing all but three pieces of sushi. She apologized and said the best she could do was only charge an extra $5 for not finishing it. She then stated the policy was started in the menu even though the original server should have explained to us the policy. Asked to speak to the manager and she explain the same thing but could clearly care less (even though we also waited 30 minutes son sushi that hadn’t even put in). Then to top things off my mother was charged twice for the same roll. The server said there was a piece of sushi left when the servers switched which was a complete lie and the servers part (or she’s a complete airhead). I felt completely unheard and uncared for. I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and I know for a fact that my managers would not have charged the extra $5 for not finishing the sushi simply for the fact we were not told about it, and we would have even been discounted for the inconvenience of having to wait over 30 minutes for our order being forgotten about. The manager did not care at all and charged us full price for everything plus the extra $5 for not finishing the sushi. I have never experienced such poor hospitality by a manager in a restaurant. I do not blame the server (even though she wasn’t very bright) but I expect more from a manager. First and last time going to the place.. The only reason why they received two starts from me was because the other staff that was not our server was very caring and kind and the food was good. Zero starts for management....

Funny story: I’ve accidentally locked myself out of my apartment today with no way to get in and get my car key. It’s Sunday. I always go to Sushi Time on Sunday. I AM DYING FOR SUSHI!!! They have the best sushi all the nearby area. I’m from Jackson, Wyoming, and I drive literally an hour and a half to eat their sushi pretty much every Sunday with no regrets. I have tried sushi from all around Idaho Falls and Jackson area, and Sushi Time is the best. Worth the drive every single time.

They are also the hardest working crew I’ve seen. Reno is my sushi savior and kills it every time, so special shout out him, but everyone there is an awesome person. Yes, there are times when you will wait for some rolls because all you can eat sushi gets busy really really fast. Even the most skilled professional is still just a human being with two hands. Although I’d call the Sushi Time chefs more superheroes than people. They save my sushi-loving life every week. Except for this one because I locked my stupid car keys in my stupid room and can’t get sushi today! Arrrggghhh!

If I were there today, I’d have already downed a Hyperion and a Michelle, my two favorite rolls. Don’t let the spicy meter fool you, you can always ask them to tone it down a little and as long as you take take some good natured ribbing, they are happy to please. The Santa Cruz, the Crush, and the Kai are awesome as well. If you want to fill up quick, hit the staple fried rolls, Avalanche and Don’t Ask. You won’t leave hungry. Also don’t be scared of the dessert roll, Final Fantasy. Even though it looks strange on the menu, it’s really good. I hardly every have room because I have a strict leave no sushi behind policy. I’m always too full of awesome sushi for dessert.

I am missing Sushi Time so much today since I missed last week due to weather. Some people have church. I have Sushi Time. I love this place. I think they are the best place in Idaho Falls hands down. I miss you guys today. My Sunday is just not the same without Sushi Time. Thank you to all of you who give me delicious sushi every week. You don’t know how much you miss it until you can’t...
