The Guardian bake shop — Restaurant in Idaho Falls

The Guardian bake shop is above the gold standard for gluten-free/vegan treats, friendly staff, and safety regarding dietary restrictions. This is a small, family owned local business with a menu gluten-free pastries that can't be beat.

Food: The baked goods are indiscernable from gluten goods in both taste and texture. All my friends and family enjoy this, even the ones who think gluten free food is gross.

Staff: The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I have not seen staff more willing to answer questions or walk guest through the menu. They are very knowledgeable about all different dietary restrictions and love to help people find treats they can eat. They consistently go out of their way to accommodate their customers.

Safety: I have severe celiac disease. I have gotten sick just from people using dishes and utensils that have been used with gluten dishes in the past. I have never gotten sick here. They take care to keep their facility gluten free and separate the vegan and non-vegan options.

If you're thinking about visiting, do it! I can't recommend this...

I love this place. Finally a place I can crave and go to as a gluten free person!! They have a lot of options. My favorite is the sour cream old fashioned donuts. The Juliet cupcakes are good too. I like the sour cream cupcakes, but I can’t remember what they’re called! Also the Gnomeo cupcakes have addictive icing. The squirrel cookies have maple icing with chocolate piping, and I was very hesitant to try them at first! HOWEVER this was a combo I didn’t know I needed in my life. So good.

The family that runs this place is so nice. I awkwardly showed up an hour before they opened one day thinking it was every day they open an hour early for the Gnomies (rewards members that you should be a part of), and they served me just the same when they did not have to.

I could go on forever about how thankful I am for this bakery and their gluten free offerings. Stop by and be impressed! Support this local business. We want...

I’ll never forget the kindness Dusty, Sam & Tom showed my family. A mix-up with our cake could’ve ruined my son’s birthday, but instead, they turned it into something beautiful. They remade the cake just in time, surprised us with a dozen cupcakes, a gift and balloon for my son, and even gave us a lifetime donut pass.

After losing my husband, small acts of care mean so much—and this was no small act. Thank you for showing us such genuine compassion. We felt it deeply. Your generosity reminded me that compassion and community are still so alive. What you did was more than good customer service; it was a beautiful act of kindness that touched our hearts.
