Perfect Light Camera & Supply — Attraction in Idaho Falls

I bought my first DSLR from Christopher in January of 2009. He gave me a few pointers and I had great success shooting in portrait/auto for over a year. When he opened Perfect Light, I heard about the intro class and my wife signed me up for my birthday.

Christopher is a wonderful teacher. I walked away from the class shooting manual and inspired to get creative. Christopher has always been, and now the whole staff is, so fun to walk in and shoot the breeze with. This is a crew that loves photography as much now as they ever have. They’re as excited about the art as any noob is.

I was interested in a new camera so my husband purchased a $1400 set up as a gift. I went in knowing it wasn't the right camera for me but the lady was pretty quick to tell me it's easy and I will learn it. Then tried to tell me I need another $1k lens to do what I'm wanting (up close blurred background images). She told me to take an online class but now that I have "used" my camera, meaning I turned it on, it's not returnable. I think forcing someone into an expensive investment that isn't right for them is unprofessional. Especially when I expressed concern before taking the camera back home. I hate to leave a 3 star review but I am extremely frustrated. I went into the store back in Feb 2021 and talked extensively to a man about several options for a new camera. I finally decided on the Nikon D7500 which was out of stock. I asked him to save me one when he got one in and I called a few times to get updates. Well, they finally got ONE in yesterday and Audrey called me and left a message that it was in. I went in this morning at 10 and she had sold it to another person last night - not even 3 hours after they called me! I have been waiting for 2 1/2 - 3 months for this camera to come in. At this point I am frustrated enough to not even buy from them again. I guess moral of the story is to PRE BUY the camera before it...
