Service was good the first few times, but my last couple of trips to Twisted Sugar have been below par and my last visit there is what prompted this review.
I got to the drive thru 5-10 minutes before opening time and was met outside by an employee setting up that gave me a funny look and just went back inside. I checked hours on google and was happy to wait, but after sitting in the drive thru for several minutes after their opening time with no one taking my order, I thought maybe they had forgotten I was out there and that I would get better service just going inside.
Once inside the store, there was another customer waiting who said she had been inside since they unlocked the door but had not been acknowledged. She had seen me not having much luck in the drive thru and had the same idea about coming inside. Finally at 9:15, the same employee I had seen outside came out and began slowly placing the display cookies out and when she was about halfway done, she finally looked up to acknowledge us only to let us know that she wasn’t finished but we could order if we already knew what we wanted.
I understand running behind, but of the 2-3 employees there that morning, the only one we interacted with was unfriendly and unapologetic about the entire situation and gave off a very take-it-or-leave-it vibe, which I very much would have left it if I hadn’t already promised my 2 yr old a cookie (iykyk). It ended up being a half hour ordeal that I would very much not...
Read moreI visited location as my first to any location. I do not like most cookie shops, as they seem to double (or worse) the amount of sugar in all cookies. So I was hopeful but not sure. After seeing some reviews that seemed to suggest Twisted Sugar would NOT be sugar bombs, I ordered 4 cookies--Chocolate Chip, Crinkle, Lemon Tart, and Lemon Raspberry. I was a little surprised by the texture of the cookies. They seemed barely baked, maybe even almost doughy. But I liked it! My favorite-- and I LOVED IT--was the Lemon Tart. I also really liked the Lemon Raspberry. They actually have good citrus flavor. If you like just a hint, they may not be for you. I often put lemon or lime powder on top of whatever lemon or lime treat I get, but none (or no more, in the Tart case) was needed here! The Crinkle was ok, just not my thing I guess. I didn't care much for the chocolate chip. I don't think it was quite as sweet as most shops', but the underbaked texture and lack of sugar caramelization just wasn't for me. I love cc cookie dough, so I don't know. Anyway, I WILL be back!! I shared all of the cookies with my family, which was hard because I was on a "Not-A-Mom" weekend, so had to save them until I got back home the next day. I want my OWN now! 😆 Oh, that brings up a great note: even a few DAYS later, the remaining cookie bites weren't dried out and crumbling. They were a bit drier than fresh of course, but...
Read moreI've been patiently waiting for the opening & it's finally here!
I have been driving past the Twisted Sugar sign for months wondering what kind of exciting things the establishment would offer. Well, they have finally opened their doors & I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised.
Twisted Sugar has officially entered the soda-shop game in Idaho Falls. They have a well-thought-out drink menu that features over 50+ options, not including your own combinations. I look forward to visiting again soon to try one of the Twisters (Ice Cream Smoothies). The Pineapple Whip Twister sounds delicious. I tried the Peaches & Cream with a Sprite base. It was good but I wish the peach flavor would come through a bit more.
There are also a ton of fun cookie options - ranging from your everyday chocolate chip to something a little more indulgent like Banana Cream or PB Nutella. I always start with a chocolate chip cookie at new places. I'm a firm believer that if you can't get a chocolate chip cookie right, I don't want to risk trying anything else. It was pretty good, I'll be back for the Banana Cream.
I definitely think I made the right decision by joining the loyalty program on...
