I booked a room from June 30th-July 2nd from the hotel itself by phone, my surgery was on july 2nd, there were complications and i had to stay overnight and we needed to book an extra room on July 2nd because of those complications around 1030 in the morning before check out time my wife booked the extra room, i was originally charged on june 30th for 2 rooms for 2 days that had been taken out of my account as pending which was not in my available funds anymore, and then i was charged again on july 2nd for 2 rooms for 3 days it ended up taking out of my account for 2 rooms total and only 3 days of actual stay was for those 3 days they charged me over $1000 dollars i was charged because the manager messed up instead of just charging me 2 rooms for one more day he charged me 2 rooms for 2 days on june 30th and again on july 2nd for 3 days and tied up literally over $1000 dollars charged to my account as pending and my bank account was froze because that sent my account in the negative and froze my account and that was my money to get home with, it ended up taking all available funds out of my account and i had negative balance, and the manager told me it would take 3 days to correct itself to get my money back, i talked with the manager and my bank at the same time and recorded the conversation and the manager of hotel did something on his end canceling something pending but it would not take effect until the 4th of July, so i asked the manager since i had no money and just got out of the hospital after complications with surgery if he would allow us to stay an extra day for free since because of him it took all the money i had in my account because of this manager not just charging me for one day he decided to charge me again for all 3 days and it was his mistake and i couldn't get home because i live in North Dakota, this happened while in the hospital from having surgery. Then 1 week later after everything cleared up they charged me for 2 rooms at $126 which was more than what i was originally charged for those rooms because i am a rewards member we were to get the rooms at 105 a night, they charged me 126 times 2 for those days they said i could have for free because of...
Read moreCompared to other super 8s, this was kind of disappointing. I called ahead to be sure the hot tub was working. When we arrived on a Sunday they said it was down and would try to get it fixed in the morning. When we left 3 days later it was still down. I heard workers saying the filter was broken for the 3rd or 4th time in the last couple of months. They put a sign up saying it was down for scheduled maintenance. Also they had a sauna and the first night when we checked in the clerk told us the sauna still worked. However after that all the clerks claimed it was down too. The coffee maker in our room barely worked at all. Sometimes it gave us a couple of teaspoons of coffee other times 3/4 of a cup ejecting the rest of the water into the tray. The rooms smelled fine but the hall especially with the stairways stank. The washing machine was out of order the entire time we were there. Since we were on a road trip that did matter to us. And it is specified on the website that guest laundry is available. I heard some people checking in who were offered room 218. They said they did not want that room because the air conditioner was broken and the window would not open. At that point the clerk checked something and said Oh yes there is a note that it is broken. However, on a Monday night it was not fixed. It was not a weekend night. And it must have been broken for some time for people registering to have known about it. I understand amenities at super 8 are not fancy. However I would like to think that those that are listed as provided would work. Maintenance at this place is lacking. Organization is also lacking. Since it is now owned by windom you would think they would have the money to maintain it. I will say that every worker, even the clerks who claimed the sauna was broken, were very kind to us and helped us find ice, plates and forks, and were simply pleasant...
Read moreThis was a last-minute booking through Expedia and the only reason we booked it, it was advertised as newly renovated. We had also prepaid. We got to the hotel, and it was a dump. We asked about the newly renovated advertisement and was told it had been started. There is a big hole in the yard â that must be the starting. There is caution tape all over the hallway on the dirty carpet. We then went to the rooms, and they were very old and worn. Even the towel â yes one towel and one wash cloth had holes. There was a dead body in the room next to my sisterâs room and was being taken out when we arrived at the room. The TV did not work. Trash bags in the hallway that sat overnight -open. The breakfast consisted of toast and waffles but no plates to put them on, empty coffee erns, juice machine was water we left and went to Dennyâs. I called Expedia right away after we arrived in the rooms and they said they would contact the hotel and get back with me. They would not offer to relocate us. I have reached out to them several times and they keep telling me that they canât reach the manager at the hotel. I have tried to reach the manager and I am constantly told that they are not in and that they could not tell me when they would be there nor their name. I know that Expedia has a contract with any hotel that is listed with them and Super 8 is in violation of that contract. Expedia makes a very large percentage of the reservations that are booked through them. We have asked on several occasions to be reimbursed for the stay and we keep getting the run around from Expedia. I will never prepay for another reservation that is not refundable with any booking site. This hotel should be closed, and Super 8/Wyndham should be ashamed that they name is...
