First off, I am a Sandwich Guy !! I could eat them every single day of my life and never get tired of them. Literally live off of them, and having spent 30 years in construction I’ve had plenty of them (and almost lived off of them for real). Cobbys is STILL the best dang sandwich shop around….. Ive gone there so many times over the years. I have even ventured out and tried so many other sandwich shops and liked some, hated some , and temporarily ā€œloved someā€. But they always wind up eventually disappointing me. They just always seem to go corporate or cut costs and remove meat and cheese, or speed things up disgustingly quick (microwaves, freezers, etc….and suck) but Cobbys is ALWAYS there, ALWAYS reliable, and ALWAYS delicious!! We have once again returned to Cobbys as our Go To Sandwich shop. The right amount of meat, cheese, and sauce…… the sauce is KEY to a great sandwich. Keep it up Cobbys !! Whether you’re on Chinden or Overland, they will deliver. We love Cobbys !!! Just go there. Their salad bar is always legit, and don’t forget……. All the chips and fruit you want is always FREE. Can’t go wrong here. EVER

We both ordered the half and half special (half sandwich with a cup of soup). I really enjoyed the #15 sandwich with different Italian cold cuts, on a focaccia roll - it tasted very fresh and flavorful. My soup choice was clam chowder and it was really good. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich and bacon cheese potato soup; she really enjoyed the soup, but the chicken salad had a lot of pepper in it (see the picture). It was kind of surprising they would put that much pepper in a chicken salad? The staff was friendly and made our sandwiches and got the soup very quickly. The shop is very unique, feels like it hasn't changed in thirty years, very homey and comfortable feeling. With all of the BSU gear, I was surprised they didn't have TV's to watch the games. Overall it was a good experience and we'll probably be back, but this time maybe not for the chicken salad šŸ˜‰

I was impressed with this sandwich shop. Most sandwich shops are pretty ho hum, but this one includes more exotic fare, including my favorite capicolla ham. I rarely find it in the Boise area. I had it on focaccia bread which tasted locally made, and got it with the standard accompaniments, though i added a little italian dressing the way they made it in Pittsburgh. It was lovely and had just the right balance of vegetables to meat, and wasn't so full that i couldn't get it in my mouth. My husband got the egg salad and he said it was as good as he could make, which is high praise for him. We both got the "a little bit more" for $14.85 which is a full sandwich, soup or salad bar, apple or orange, chips and a drink. Neither one of us could eat more than half of our sandwiches or our chips and had to save our cookies for later. Great value for money in our opinion.

"A man's social rank is determined by the amount of bread he eats in a sandwich." ― F. Scott Fitzgerald

If the quote above were true, I'd be a poor peasant! My review is not based on their sandwich-- ironically we didn't order one. However, the smell was amazing, the descriptions were tantalizing, the view of the other patrons was salivating! Watching their bread be spread and layered with meaty and creamy goodness, dipped and drizzled, the meats and cheeses becoming one, sauce overflowing-- I almost needed a cigarette, but I don't smoke.

I usually order sands with no bread, but they had a freakin salad bar, and.... clam chowder (lacking many clams)! Ummm.... hello... "A man's social rank is determined by the amount of bread he eats in a sandwich." ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Beautiful and Damned, please give me Number 9!

54th person to review Cobby's Sandwich Shop. This is my 450th review. Tucked into a dying, small(ish) shopping center/stip in Boise off Overland near the Grocery Outlet and D & B lot. Hard to see this place if you didn't Yelp or know its here!

Walking in you see menu boards, picnic table, a salad bar, and lots of nostalgic Boise Photos, which is an excellent touch.

I ordered a big bowl of Clam Chowder and a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar was average, but the top-of-the-line kind of average. Whole Apples and Oranges, all the salad fixings, and an assortment of pasta and potato type salads.

It was an enjoyable meal, ambiance with excellent (yes excellent)...

This company simply does not care about their employees. People go through this thing called "Life" and a long term employee that gave you many years of dedication deserved to be treated better. I'm thankful my company recognizes tenure and I was placed on a leave for high blood pressure. The GM Tammy should not be managing people. She took an opportunity to jerk around a person that didn't deserve that at all. In fact I have never in my life witnessed a worse manager. It was interesting watching this person basically talk to herself and to bring her back and then fire her because she didn't see your message right away. That was the absolute most unprofessional thing I have ever witnessed a "manager" do to a person. There are people that still care about values and treating people decently but since Cobbys employs garbage management they obviously have no values for people or their employees. You would think a smaller business would respect their employees and single mothers. Now everyone on Google will know the truth about Cobbys management and how they treat good people. Cobbys needs to fire the GM and get some real management. She has no business managing people, I would be surprised if she could manage to care for a goldfish let alone multiple locations. I will be back to continue to tell the world about the GM that treated an innocent employee very badly. A leave with no pay should have been the solution...

I want to edit my review on Cobys. I provided my experience below but was super impressed when I received a response to rectify this. I was not only listened to but felt like my service really had an impact. I was explained of the new hires and understand. I do want to clearify that the company and the food them selves are awsome. This will not prevent me from going back. I went in yesterday on Tuesday the 12th of January to order two sandwichs. I waited with three other customers for five minutes for someone to serve us. Finally one customer behind me went into the back kitchen and got them. They didn't seem to be engaged in the work. I ordered two sandwichs with specific condiments due to allergies to mayo with both employees standing there. Then the girl asked me "everything on both"? I was irritated by that, but I repeated myself again. Once I brought the sandwichs home I found that everything was on both sandwichs!!! They did not pay attention to not one, but both sandwichs. We have been going to cobys for a while now because an expensive price for a great sandwiche is totally worth it there. However I pay to get what I pay for. Not for a mistake that cause me to not be able to eat one of...
