So I want to start off by saying that the sushi, the Sushi chefs and one waitress saved this place for me and I give them 5 Stars they were great!
Now with that being said, I placed an order on an app, on the app it said my ordered had been submitted, but it hadn’t updated to show confirmed. I had quite a large order and I wasn’t sure if it had made it to the restaurant. I called and I got a gentleman on the phone and I said that I had ordered to go and I just wanted to check to make sure it was there. The gentleman on the phone sighed at me and stated “we are so behind on Togo orders, so I don’t know if yours is here.” I said “oh can you just check that it went..” he interrupted me and said I have to get off the phone to check. Then he laughed at me and said what’s your phone number. I gave him my phone number and he said Nope I don’t have it, I asked if maybe it was under my email address or, he interrupted me again and said oh yours is the big one I found it. I was relieved and I asked if he knew around what time I could expect to pick up and he laughed at me again and said I have to get off the phone to make it. So I don’t know. Then he laughed again and hung up. I honestly was shocked, I have never been treated so badly by someone in a restaurant before.
When we arrived about an hour later to pick up our order, I was met by the person I had spoken to on the phone. Considering he told me he had to get off the phone to make my order I had assumed he was a cook, but it turns out he was a waiter. I asked the waitress who was very kind to us what his name was and she told us Jerem.
Whoever owns this place has some great staff and I want to make sure she/he knows that their sushi chefs and the one waitress they are top notch and you should appreciate them, but I also want to let them know you should really have a chat with Jerem about his customer...
Read moreWe went to Sakana after a wedding rehearsal. It came with high recommendations from sushi lovers after the place we had originally chosen closest to the venue couldn't accomodate our party. We didn't have reservations, but did call ahead, and they appreciated that.
The food did not disappoint. While I enjoy sushi, I am not a connoisseur—but I do know that I loved what I ordered (Spicy Angel) and everyone else enjoyed theirs. The fish was super fresh, and it was all beautifully presented. My wife is not a sushi fan, so she ordered the teriyaki steak. It was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Our server was very friendly and attendant to our needs. I only took a star off of atmosphere because the building and interior could use some love. Tables, chairs, and decor all could use some updating. But the food is very reasonably priced, especially considering the amount of skill and artisanship that goes into making sushi. I will...
Read moreI love the atmosphere here at Sakana and the service has been good. I’ve been several times with my friend and agree the window seating is just lovely. However, exactly every time we have been, the waitress who takes our order ( who I assume is the owner) always manages to NOT write the order down and sure enough we are brought items to our table that we didn’t order or brings the wrong sushi. I have tried giving them a few times before I reviewed them. I don’t think it’s a language barrier, I just wish I could go back but so far the exception has been the rule here. The rice is also pretty stiff that wraps the...
