We stay at the anniversary inn 2-3 times a year. Last time our fire place wouldn't work and they couldn't get it to work so they credited our room for the inconvenience which was appreciated. This time however we checked in to a diamond suite at 330, were immediately informed that the smoke alarm wouldn't stop beeping and they'd try to fix it around 530. They did come in and to try to handle that and then we found out the alarm was still beeping after being "fixed" AND there was an issue with the toilet and it wouldn't even flush just water. They offered to come into our room again to try to fix the toilet but by this time it was 630 and we've spent 3 hours in an expensive room unable to relax or do anything we wanted because people needed to come in and out... So we ended up switching rooms and they said they'd look at and adjust our bill for the inconvenience. We find out early in the morning that the room we moved to also has a problem with the toilet. Check out is at noon and we ended up checking out by 11, not because we wanted to but because we needed access to a functional bathroom. Get to the front desk to check out and there is no adjustment to the bill. We paid $274.81 to dedicate 3 hours of our stay to waiting for people to come into our room/being in our room and the rest of the time making sure we didn't need to do anything other than pee in a bathroom. The anniversary inn used to be so well kept and maintained, that's definitely not the case anymore.
Editing because I'm unable to reply to the front desk response: I was told my bill would be adjusted and ended up paying full price. Between all of the issues with my stay and then my bill not being adjusted like we were told it would be, we will not be back. Things happen which I can understand and when I had issues previously and my room was adjusted I let it go because at least I was compensated for the inconvenience which is the correct thing to do. To be lied to and told that my bill will be adjusted and then it not be is just ridiculous, there is no way in the world we should have paid full price for the experience we had. This review wouldn't have even happened if you compensated me accordingly like you said you would and I'd probably still come back regularly. Clearly your fine with your customers being incredibly inconvenienced and then not doing anything to make that right.
The manager was there when I checked in and was the one that said she would adjust our bill prior to checkout which she obviously could have done since she was literally right there. After this review the manager proceeded to blow my phone up- calling on repeat, leaving rude voicemails and then proceeding to text me. While I was at my grandfather's 80th birthday. Completely unprofessional. I have waited a more than reasonable amount of time since my stay and still didn't receive any adjustment to my bill. Ridiculous! Judging by our experience and your recent reviews they really need a different manager. I can't imagine the main point of contact for my business behaving like this or being okay with the service that was...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to rent a room for our 23rd Anniversary. The website shows you photos of all the beautiful rooms, but they should include a layout of the rooms. There is at least 3 floors and a person could make a better informed decision if they knew the layout. When we arrived we found that our room was on the bottom floor. We chose the ("French Canopy Suite #4)We checked in about 5 pm. Shortly thereafter a woman checked into the room directly above us.(Red Rock Canyon #17). Her room had tile floors, and she was wearing high heel shoes !! So for the best part of the evening we listened to "click, click, click" walking over head.In addition we kept hearing cars coming and going next to the bedroom window. Back and forth. I finally got up and looked thru the window. At this point I discovered a 5-6 foot tall concrete barrier, separating the room from a huge apartment complex next door.(Our room was not only on the basement floor,it was on the end also.)It was dark outside so I am not sure if it was a shared parking lot, or a side street.I could see at least 3-4 story apartments, all of which had they're lights on, and clearly they were busy, as it was Saturday night !! About 9:30 pm the traffic started slowing down, and we started to settle in for the night, or so we thought!! At 10:00 pm we heard a knock on what we thought was our door, turned out to be the one above us.As we heard the old familiar sound of "click, click. click, click over head. Then friendly chatter. Then they decided to take a bath !!!! Water running so loudly, it was very annoying. At this point I decided I was going to call the front desk and complain. But, before I could do that, the upstairs now has turned on the Tub Jets !!! OMG- I am a VERY patient person, but this evening has been anything but fun or relaxing, mind you we paid over 280.00 for our room, This is NOT what we expected.I called the front desk and shared all of my concerns, now it is 10:15 pm. So while still on the phone with the front desk, they now turn the TV on up in they're room !! To the credit of the staff, they did offer us to move to the ONLY other room they had available which was the Country Garden Room.(Mind you this room is directly next to the front desk, with people coming and going.) Or, she offered to refund our money. Although we had an hour and a half drive to get home, we opted to leave, as it was clear to us that we were not going to get any rest !!! The rooms are VERY nice, and Clean ! I could be wrong, but I do not think that this place is handicap accessible. There is a HUGE flight of steps to get into the front door, then depending on what floor your room is on, you have at least 2 flights of steps going up or down. I would just say to you, find out what floor your room is on, and only get a room that is on the top floor !!! You will not have any peace if someone is in a room above yours. And be careful not to get a room in the high traffic areas (near front desk) if quiet time is a...
Read moreI will preface the following with an update that as we checked out this morning, the cost of our snacks were graciously covered - I assume to address some of the points below.
It’s difficult to write this, but I do it just to help set proper expectations. My wife and I have been coming to this Anniversary Inn nearly yearly since 2012 and have stayed in many rooms. Over the years it has been a lot of fun, and some of the rooms are really great. But in the last few years, the facility and the service have deteriorated quite a bit, and I’m not sure we will return again.
Three years ago we came and could not check into our room because someone was squatting in it, and once they removed the individual they had to bring in professionals to clear it for drug paraphanalia, so we stayed in a room we had not picked out. The following year the hot water heater associated with our room was broken, and this wasn’t figured out until late into the night after we had long-since settled in the room and moving was really inconvenient - and of course into a room that we had not taken the time to pick out.
We are just finishing our final visit, and I’ll just share what we’ve experienced: The room we are in is listed with a king sized bed, but it’s a queen. The fireplace has not been properly maintained, so that the dimmable lights are non-functional. When you try to turn down the bright white light to see the fire, everything goes from full to off, including the fire. So when the fire is running, you can barely see it through the white light. And it’s too bright to leave running at the side of the bed. The option provided was to go find another room - this would have been the third year in a row that we wouldn’t sleep in the room we had picked out. When we ordered a snack we were informed that they only had one regular coke in the hotel, and no diet cokes (what we were looking for). Based on (3) above, we kind of giggled when our breakfast arrived without the hot chocolate that we ordered (the night before) … we got a call a few minutes later that the hotel was out of hot chocolate. Essentially we came back because we had a gift certificate for a free night plus a few $10 cards accumulated over previous visits. Well, the gift certificate for the free room doesn’t cover tax, and when we paid for the tax with these cards (which I was happy about because I anticipated a free stay), there was no change returned or a recommendation to purchase something with the overpayment - the tax was around $22 and I paid with $30 in cards - no invitation to do something with the remaining $8 that would have been enough to purchase several things that are offered. I know this one was on me, but I feel that a service-oriented front desk might point out that I had money left over and what I might apply it to to enhance our stay. None of that...
