I went to this sushi place for dinner with my friends, I was excited to eat at the restaurant. I ordered the spicy edamame as an appetizer, now I really like this appetizer and when I had the dish it felt underwhelming at first I was like this is good! But as I ate on the edamame wasn’t that good. Then when I got my Mexican Rolls they were good at first but as I ate on they were from good to okay. The service could need improvement as one of the workers went to us to pay for our meals we asked for separate checks however, the worker had us pay per meal and she left to attend other things we were waiting as we had no idea what to do. Another thing my friend is allergic to sweet potatoes and they asked the waiter if there’s any sweet potatoes and the worker said yes and he would remove the sweet potato my friend said three times he is allergic but the people gave him the sweet potatoes. After the lady which was doing something else another worker came to help out with paying for our food he made a remark about our friend and that’s all I remember.
Now I believe my friends and I went at the wrong time. because, by the time we were inside there were other people almost filled up guaranteed we were luckily given a spot and by the time we had to leave it was almost a full house inside and they were going to seat people before cleaning up tables we sat at. I will of course give this place a...
Read moreSmall place, all of 5 tables, empty when we arrived, full when we left. We ordered hot chocolate for our toddlers. We asked if we could get it cooled down because the kids are small. He said they could pour it and it could sit and cool. We agreed. They didn’t poor it until the food was ready so it was scolding and our kids couldn’t enjoy. All drinks came with food, not before. We ordered 2 appetizers with our meal, explaining one was for our toddlers as their lunch. That appetizer never arrived. They attempted to deliver the other appetizer when we were finished eating and we rejected it. My wife and I had to share our meals with the kids. We couldn’t get the attention of our server in a quiet manner to inquire about the appetizer for the kids. I had the thought to yell to get his attention but I don’t do that. We got all of 2 napkins and if you have toddlers you know that’s mission impossible. Food was sub par and dishes smelled like soap. Wouldn’t recommend, wouldn’t return. Sad day...
Read moreGREAT SERVICE, BUT BLAND... it pains me to say this as the staff were absolutely wonderful. However, I have to be honest. I tried the edamame appetizers and they weren't a hit for me. Next, for the main course I had a order of veggie yakisoba w/ tofu and this also missed the mark big time. I didn't like that the noodles tasted store bought. Honestly I've had better maruchan noodles. The tofu was solid but it wasn't enough to save the dish. The fried fish looked good but I didn't get a chance to try it!
I didn't feel like sushi this time around so I might give this place another shot, however it's going to be a while till I come back. As I'm writing this we are in the middle of the summer in Idyllwild and things are heating up. I was further disappointed that this place did NOT have AC, it was very steamy in there which made my visit a bit uncomfortable. Again, I'm sad that I have to leave this review because our waitress was awesome! Hoping they improve their...
