We ordered a plate of TBone WELL COOKED with 2 over easy eggs, mashed potatoes & broccoli, a house salad, Chicken fried Steak with mashed potatoes & broccoli + 2 coffees. First of all. When we arrived 7pm nobody said anything until we asked for a table and the black guy said go get one and someone will attend us soon. We waited for 15 mins and nobody looked at us so I call the waitress and asked for two menus. She said why we didn’t have any service (?) She brought the menus and we asked for 2 coffees & cream. We got the coffees & the 🥗 When she brought the dishes she told us that the 2 sides of broccoli coming soon. The T Bone wasn’t well done - it was red - no eggs …(?) my husband reminded her about well cooked and she apologized and took it back to the kitchen - she returned but it was the same … not well done, no eggs and no broccoli still! I took it back to the kitchen and asked the waitress for second time - please cook it well. Check with a food thermometer for 185 degrees for well cooked. She brought the eggs in a separate plate and a plate with a 2 pieces of bread with butter. She never offered more coffee or water. Finally, my husband got the TB and his side of broccoli but I was still waiting for mine (?) but I got when I finished my Chicken fried steak plate. Suddenly, the waiter (black guy) offered & served more coffee to my husband but nothing to me (?) The waitress (young-short girl) asked if we want something else and we asked for a glass of water. She brought it and left the bill for $40.39 but when my husband went to pay at the counter - I put a $5 bill on the table as tip - the guy/cashier got the bill and asked my husband to place the credit card and gave the final receipt to my husband with a different total amount ….$47.05 We travel too often because my husband is a Truck driver (we parked in the back street) We ❤️ to eat at DENNYS and enjoyed always the food but this is the WORST one we’ve ever eat 😫 That’s why I decided to check the reviews in my IPhone and got surprised about how many complaints this place has for more than a year and don’t understand why nobody does anything to fix these problems to give a better service. I’m thinking to send copy of this to the main corporate office. DENNYS RESTAURANTS IS A VERY IMPORTANT FRANCHISE...
Read moreThe food was awesome, fresh and hot. Better than I expected. Quite a bit more expensive than we thought. I feel so terrible because I'm not 100% sure of her name but I'm pretty sure our waitresses name was Lanore. But I CAN 100% say she was AMAZING. Extremely attentive, there when our drinks ran low, to help if we needed anything, when we needed extra napkins, when we slowed down she came to to see if we needed to go boxes and bags, then after we talked a bit longer and our drinks ran low again, without us feeling rushed she offered us to go drinks. Now to our food.. my Dad got the Senior Chicken Fried Steak (you get one Steak) smothered in Gravy it was Delicious with Broccoli and Onion Rings (you only get about 5-6 mid sized Onion Rings) & Garlic Toast. My Daughter got Bacon Bourbon Burger BUT REPLACED the BURGER with a GRILLED CHICKEN Sandwich a Touch Spicy but still EXCELLENT. Sides were Mac & Cheese Great but I didn't care for the Pepper in it, this only came with one side. I got the Plate Lickin Chicken Fried Chicken you get 2 Chickens a bit bigger than the steak and oh so tender & juicy, not to mention fresh and hot. It was absolutely amazing, so much better than I expected it to be. I add 2 sides to my order cheaper this way. If you add-on a side, it's only $2.99 with a few exceptions. So, I got the Mac & Cheese and one of the exceptions, a salad. I was disappointed in the add-on Mac & Cheese I requested it and the Salad to go. So when I saw the Mac & Cheese there was only about 2 Teaspoonful and that was it. The one my Daughter got on her plate for her to eat there looked easily 3x more. The Salad was Fine and I was impressed with the Dressing. I had requested Italian and Ranch on the Side. This (the Salad) I wasn't sure if I was getting to go or not but either way I was fine with. So they gave me 2 (quite small but still pleased me) containers each of the Italian and the Ranch Dressings. Drinks for the most part are $2.99 each, so I got my Daughter a Coke and my Dad a Dr Pepper and myself a Coffee (which like theirs is bottomless). Add that $9 + Tip and you've got a $70 Lunch. In all a very Pleasant, Pleasing, and Positive Dining Experience. And a HUGE THANK YOU to our Waitress, Lanore. Hope I...
Read moreDear Dennys I understand times are tough on economy, finding good workers, good management. I understand, we all get burnt out. Also, though if the company is losing money and the employees make not much and is part time, something needs to change to promote excellence and good food.
I am sorry the Dennys in Independence, MO burnt down. That had a big impact on your quality and loss of jobs. The only place is on Noland Rd now. But we have to do better. I am a Union Carpenter, I have 2 children I took there. The tables were only half full. Waited 15 minutes to finally be helped to sit. 1 bust person. 2 waitresses. 1 manager. 2 in kitchen. The bust lady could have been trained to help people be seated instead of me wait. Or the manager could have foucesed on helping us be seated instead of giving critique to the cooks. Remeber only half full in the building we could have been seated right away. The waitresses were busy. The food was awful. I should stood my ground on getting some of it off my reciept. But I felt obligated to pay for it so you may stay in business in hopes to be better.
The scrabble eggs were cold on 3 plates. The sausage was cold in the center. The strawberry crepes were soaked in strawberry juice. Which makes it feel super underwhelming. Use fresh strawberries for better appearance and not canned sugery strawberries. Usually it is fresh fruit. Don't blame your cooks. Put them through more training. Hire a good cook to run the kitchen so few mistakes are taken care of and learned for the new people.
This all being said. Not 1 male worker was working in any position. All women. That is fine. However the workers were all 45 to 70 years old. There is a crisis for hiring young people. Inflation is to high to pay decent wages to keep an apartment. So let's make sure we have a good opportunity for the workers there. Some I know from the Dennys that burnt down and moved to this location have been working there for years. They are old, tired and slow, not there fault though. Give them behind the dinner work instead of making them do all the waitresses. If things don't change this location will be another chain of business closed. Poor service, poor food, very pricey. But still left a good...
