Stopped in for a quick lunch during at grocery shopping trip on a slow Thurs afternoon. My daughter and I were the only ones ordering off the menu, I choose boneless wings & a water and she ordered chicken skewers & a side of fruit off of the kids menu. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, so we do not hold her responsible for what happened next. After 20 mins of waiting, the waitress came to apologize to us saying she wasn't sure why it was taking so long for what little we ordered & she went to check. After 30 mins we still didn't have our food and really needed to get going to get our shopping done. Watched as the waitress spoke with the manager without us asking her to, she was concerned and he looked directly at us while she spoke to him but did not do a thing! Didn't come speak to us or make any motion to assist her. Continued to wait another few mins, at this point we were getting ready to leave. Watched as 3 different tables that were seated long after us received their food. Finally our food Came, on my plate there was 6 very small boneless wings that were the size of a chicken nugget. We have been there before and ordered this exact same thing and have never received so little on my plate, probably about 25% of what is normally received! Sorry, but not paying $10 for what appeared to be 6 chicken nuggets tossed in sauce over 30 mins after we ordered! The waitress completely agreed with us and went to get the manager, she said it was important to her that he see and hear all of this from us. We sat again, not eating and waited. Several mins later with no manager in sight we got up to leave. I walked to the front and spoke to the hostess. She was very rude and defensive when i calmly explained our situation. She informed me that the amount of wings I received was normal when it wasn't all you can eat night, which we have never been to and she didn't go look for herself how little I received. There was no "I'm so sorry about your wait and experience" nothing. She was very very rude, acting like all of this was normal and how dare we complain. Still no manager appeared. Left and there's the manager chatting and laughing with kitchen staff behind the counter in the store. Ridiculous. Made sure to let the manager at Hyvee know what happened, he was extremely apologetic and said all of it was unacceptable and he would take it to the higher management and offered me a gift card for our experience. We will not be returning to this market grille location in the future and will not reccomend...

It was quite ironic that the HyVee coffee was served in a Caribou Coffee cup with a Starbucks Coffee sleeve. I don't think they fully thought that out. I'm sure the competitors wouldn't like that much, but at least everyone is getting a piece of the marketing.
If you do order an app, be sure to ask if it comes with a salad before purchasing an additional or even side salad.
Also, check your ticket before paying. As with most places, the host tend to make a mistake with overcharging when there are more than two things ordered. No exception here.
They did get it corrected, but it usually takes a while. There weren't many complaints aside from the prices. Sundays are half price apps, so always check out the specials before going!
The menu also needs to be updated, as there are a few things missing that we had to ask the staff about, and they didn't seem the most knowledgeable. It needs to include the buffet price.
The guy helping us also didn't know the difference between the tostadas and the flatbread. The menu said it was the same thing, but he said it wasn't. One of them would be incorrect. After ordering, they were clearly the same as a regular flatbread. That only upset me because we already knew that, it said it on the menu to confirm, and he gave this smuggish condescending response as if WE were the ones who said something wrong.
Overall, decent. The chips were really...
Read moreWill not be back. This location switched away from the sit-down style as other locations have. The cashier took forever getting our orders in, and asked for help like three times. She said our order was "so large" several times and we only had 6 people. The food took about 30 minutes to arrive. We were initially shocked when it came out quickly, but then we realized, with the server it wasn't our food. What's the point of the call back device If they don't know where the food goes? We went to get drinks (self serve since no more table service) and ended up in a "service station" which we couldn't use due to health code. We were told they will remodel, since the only self serve drinks are far away, but maybe they should have thought of that before they switched format.
The food wasn't bad, but it was inconsistent. One child's burger was larger than another. One bun was small and burnt (we did get another). They don't really have much variety, it was mostly burgers, which is funny considering they have fried chicken, Chinese, and sushi just outside. Next time maybe we will buy that and just eat in the café area.
We probably won't be back to this location. We specifically went there thinking it still had table service. The only upside to our visit was the really apologetic bar tender who was working hard: cleaning and taking care of customers. Hope he finds a place that will appreciate his skills and...
