Subway — Restaurant in Independence

Like most places on Noland road, this Subway could be described as being a "hot mess". My sandwich wound up being exactly what I wanted, so that's fine: however there was a sizable and seemingly unnecessary delay before it was even finished.

With only two other customers at the location besides myself-- one had already been served and the other one was just ahead of me, only getting cookies-- it was definitely not busy. However, I apparently had to wait several minutes for one of the employees to "fix her hair" after she put my sandwich in the toaster. Another employee removed it, but made no attempt to finish it for me. Instead, it sat and waited until the other employee came back, got onto the other one for not helping me finish my sandwich, and then the one who removed it from the toaster wound up finishing it anyway. All of this, while the employees tossed around near incomprehensible banter to each other continuously, and never letting me know what was happening, even though I was standing right in front of it all.

Not to be too entitled here: I was on my lunch break, wanted a sandwich, and got a sandwich, definitely. But as a restaurant, this is one that most certainly lacks soft skills. I felt like I was less of a customer and more of an inconvenience, and it wasn't even during a lunchtime rush or anything (was around 4pm). Rude, maybe-- but at least they weren't mean-- and that's why they earned the second...

I’d give it 0 stars if I could! They WILL NOT bring your order out to you when you clearly choose CURBSIDE!!!! The app literally says “ a sandwich artist will bring your order out to you” and yet they will not! I even asked one of the employees, I said, “this order was curbside. Y’all don’t bring the orders out when it’s curbside?” And he politely said no! Twice now, I’ve placed a CURBSIDE order for this store, I get there, place in the subway app that I have arrived and no one comes out with my order. I have to go in. The only reason I’ve placed two orders with this store is because they’re the only one with the supposed curbside feature. But based on real time experience, curbside does not exist at this store!

Secondly, they will give you whatever instead of what you actually ordered. In my order, I requested chocolate chip cookies. I am aware that the stores can get to a point where they may not have anymore baked or in stock. Understandable. But I prefer you ask me what I want instead of just giving me whatever. I asked for 3 chocolate chip cookies. I received a cranberry, an oatmeal raisin and a macadamia cookie. What if I just wanted to be refunded instead which I did because I don’t like either 3 of those and ended up throwing them away. Couldn’t find anyone to give them too. Would’ve appreciated being asked first.

Never going to this subway again!!! 👎🏽...

Tonight, i went to this location at 3850 noland around 5pm. There were two employees inside the store. Both had serious attitude problems when i looked at the menu. I attempted to order 2 footlongs on italian-cheese bread. This young, arrogant man looked over his shoulder at a cart of trays holding different loaves. He said "we dont have any." Yet im looking DIRECTLY at 2-3 baking sheets of the very bread i wanted. He lied. Anyways I placed the order. I watched this guy turn to the oven when the buzzer went off. He slid his GLOVED hands (yes rubber gloves) INTO the oven MITTS to take the hot loaves out. I looked at him and said "change your gloves before you touch my food". He threw an attitude. City code requires food service workers to change their gloves when they touch dirty items before handling the food. Then i grabbed what i thought was a marker to label one sandwich. These two rude employees yelled at me. The guy STUCK his hand IN.MY.FACE. i told them to get their hands out of my face. One handed me a different marker. They should not leave their money marker out on the counter where someone can grab it. Piss poor service. Terrible employees. Not everything is available. I plan to contact their headquarters about this location. Go to the one on 23rd or 24+Sterling. They are much friendlier and nicer than these two. Thumb downs. They don't...
