Hands down great, unique food. A little pricey, but I guess that's normal for a vegan/organic place. Would definitely recommend trying the food if you're into this sort of stuff, it's good.
I just have a few issues with the way the place is run.
It seems there's either a lot of turnover at the counter (which usually isn't a good sign), or there's a lot of employees. I have only been three times and saw different people every time. A lot of the girls at the counter don't seem to be knowledgeable on the products and need to be more upfront about extra charges if you ask to substitute or add something. They could also communicate better with the cooks in the back... It may have just been an off day for them, but the cook was preparing something completely different from what I ordered. It wasn't just one or two items, it was completely different. My advice, if you're making something custom, have the person at the counter read it off to you before it goes back.
The next time I came the blender was supposedly broken and the girl at the counter said they couldn't make an acai bowl so I had to pick something else out. I then ordered something else and the cook came out 10 minutes later with 2 acai bowls (communication?), which wasn't what I ordered after being told they couldn't make them. I paid for 3 full ones and they told me the one that was filled a little more (stuffed with random stuff that I did not order and had barely any chia gel) was a double... Really? The bowls also came about 10 minutes apart, so one started to melt and get warm because I believe it's polite to not eat until everyone at the table gets their food. Granted, we could have put it into the fridge, but the counter girl told us it was coming out in the next minute or so.
Perhaps a little more oversight on some of your newer employees for a while could benefit the place... One bad experience usually throws first time customers off completely.
Also, please update your hours on your website/Google. It's been a few months since the hours have changed (and this has been addressed by customers multiple times throughout). Two of the times I went were later in the day and people were always surprised by the closing time and had to get it to go.
Overall, great food, somewhat poor service/communication. Everyone was polite, just either had no idea what they were talking about or were too lazy to go to the back and communicate...
Read moreOverall the food has been good. However in the month of June I was in and got a coffee drink from the fridge. Later that night I got food poisoning and was sick for two days from the unpasteurized nut milk. I guess I should have known after reading the label that states they use unpasteurized food and The consumer can run the risk of falling ill due to bacteria. However I trust and they had good practices and I would be OK. I have never had food poisoning in my life. I stopped in to the restaurant the next week to let them know there’s coffee drink gave me food poisoning. The person working the register took my phone number to have the owner call me and they never called me back. And then I returned a week later and asked if the owner had received my Message and phone number. Their response was the owner was busy. I was shocked that it business owner would not find some time to call a customer that had fallen ill from there unpasteurized nut milk That they use in their drinks. I then proceeded to open a chocolate bar that I had bought. The bar was expired and the chocolate was brittle and Hollow. I showed this to the person working at the register and asked if I could get another bar. Her response was that she was pretty sure all the bars are old. I was then shocked again that she did not remove the chocolate bars but left them out for the next person. It’s disappointing to see that they have such low standards for food safety and quality. Especially since I went out of my way to report food poisoning and the owners never responded even after reaching out to them twice. As a small business owner myself I would absolutely make it a point to call a customer that fell ill no matter...
Read moreWhen I first walked into this warm and cozy, mom and pop's retro little place, it instantly made me feel comfortable and relaxed. They sell some very peculiar things. For instance, they have this onion bread, but not what you might imagine. It is not a bread with onions in it or on top of it, it is a bread made out of onions. When you first bite into it, you immediately taste the cooked onion flavor followed by a buttery olive oil consistency that takes over your taste buds and leaves your tongue feeling silky.
I had an acaí bowl and my spouse had a dragon fruit bowl. OMG The base and fruits were served in generous amounts for a moderate price. It was worth every penny. Everything is natural and super healthy. Who knew such healthy foods could taste so scrumptious!
If you like avocados, you can't leave without tasting the Loaded Avocado. I've never tasted something as interesting and delicious inside of an avocado.
Finally, I asked for a smoothie and choose from a selection of veggies and fruits. Once again, it was interesting and devine. They use just the right amount of each veggie and fruit to blend it into the perfect smoothie.
Definitely...
