Jade Palace — Restaurant in Indian Harbour Beach

I liked the atmosphere of this place upon walking in, but my boyfriend and I came in for takeout this time. We got the crab rangoons, moo shu pork, and beef lo mein. We were planning on taking our food to a nearby park and enjoying it there. Upon arrival, however, we found there was no silverware or napkins in the takeout bag. Frustrated, my boyfriend had to drive all the way back to ask for some! I'm sure this was just a one time misstep, but it was still very frustrating. In addition, the rangoons were watery and tasted off, the moo shu pork was way too salty and also had an off taste, and the beef lo mein did not have as much sauce as my bf would have liked. The fried rice had a weird orange color I'd never seen before. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but we spent nearly $50 there for a below mediocre experience. I heard alot about this restaurant. I finally just stopped in and got take out. I ordered house egg foo young, it was the 1st time that the sauce was put on the egg foo young. I normally do not use the sauce. It was ok, it tasted like chicken gravy, i just prefer to use soy sauce. The fried rice was almost orange in color, which I now see at any other Chinese restaurant I go too. Not like the true fried rice. It's more like Spanish rice with pork pieces and egg. I wish I could get real Chinese fried rice. My husband got sweet and sour chicken, he said it was OK, not the best he had at other places. He did not like the fried rice at all. Maybe it was just the day I went, on a Saturday for lunch. Their lunch specials are $3.00 more than at other Chinese restaurants for the same lunch....

Ordered Mongolian beef with a side order of pork friend rice, Only complain was I got two small tiny pieces of pork fried rice and what looked like tiny red dots to mimic pork ? Food had Excellent flavor, rice was a bit bland and not much long string onions either as shown in previous picture from reviews.

Took two stars off, because of the bland and pork less pork fried rice.

Remember folks, we never get a chance to make a first impression.

I'll continue to go back and update my review, I'm hoping the Pork friend rice was just a fluke at this time, will add a star back next time I order the pork friend rice and has Pork in it🙏🏻
