I just had an incredibly negative experience at this store processing Amazon returns. I understand UPS and Amazon are two huge corporations but the lack of care of the actual human standing in front of me today was unbelievable.
I had an Amazon return and missed that one order required it be customer packed. That was certainly my fault. Upon realizing this and finding that to have UPS supply the box would be $14.99, I asked what our options were. They said I would have to contact Amazon because since it was in the system (which, incidentally, was the UPS store's fault for scanning it in and printing my receipt without checking the fine print first). To save time and me money, I asked if I could leave the products and just run back home and come back with a box. The man said yes, that would be fine.
So I went home and came back with a box.
He then asked me where my tape was.
I said I didn't bring any, could they just put the tape on it and he said yes, for $2 or I could buy a roll and tape it myself for $6.99.
My jaw hit the floor. I could not believe that they wouldn't throw a piece of tape on it (or even just hand me the tape and let me do the labor). I had made the whole trip back home to save the $14.99 to have them pack it and could easily have grabbed my roll of tape. Given that I was willing to go home and get the box, it was clear the extra dollars were important for me to save.
He pointed out that it was all in the fine print.
He was right.
But as I told him, it would have been so much better if he had cared enough to say, "Hey, be sure to bring packing tape with you when you bring the box back otherwise they will make us charge you to tape it."
Instead, he was happy to catch me in this second mistake and insist that there was absolutely no way to make an exception. As I handed him the $2, he said, "Actually in cash, that will be $2.14."
Lots of lessons learned for me but I hope the employees of this store will learn one too - just think for a moment about the human standing in front of you and do what you would have them do if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I would have read the reviews before I used this UPS Store. Never have I ever read a review where the owner constantly blamed the customers or always had an excuse for what the UPS Store did wrong.
I have used UPS Store in many other states, and everything was perfect - never had a problem or a major issue. I travel a lot for work, and other locations would send my mail and packages to me for a fee when I requested it - also - I was given a code to access my mailbox at any time, even if the store was closed.
When I called this UPS Store to see if the same options were available. I was told yes over the phone - but when I opened the account I was told it was not an option unless I purchased a FOB for an extra $125. I was quoted 1 price, but the total came out to be $50+ more than the original price quoted - stating it was "other fees".
When I was ready to close the mailbox, I submitted a change of address, and United Postal Service stated because I used that location, they (the UPS Store) had to submit a change address. I informed the UPS Store, and I was told I had to pay a fee to change my address. I stated that I had used other UPS stores throughout the United States, and they NEVER charged for change of address.... It wasn't about the money - it was the principle.. Truly - using this UPS Store has been a big nightmare.. All you have to do is review the rude comments submitted by the owner. A true business owner would be apologetic and try to make it right - but not this one... Good luck to anyone using this location. I'm just waiting to see what rude remark the owner will give for speaking this truth. I'm sure he will come up with something....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreManagement at this store wants their employees to ask for our name when we are dropping off Amazon returns. I always refuse to give my name. The end game is clear ā they are building up their marketing list to either use or sell.
Today I told the attendant who was sweating profusely that I am not going to give you my name. He sighs, completely distraught that I was not conforming to their policy. I said you can add Greatest Ever. He scans the code from Amazon and sees a name and says āyou do not have to be embarrassed by your name. ' I said that is rude of you to say that, why would I be embarrassed by my name? He said he said ātoday is my first dayā I told him I did not care, I am not giving you, my name. Then he plays the victim saying 'if you are going to be rude you can leave.'
He gave me the receipt, still sweating profusely and insults me again saying āI hope your day gets better.ā I let him may day has been great, I just walked off the beach after a 4 mile walk and to not be so rude.
As much as this attendant needs mannerism skills, itās managementās fault that these attendants believe it is ultra-important we give our name. where is the written guarantee our name and information is not being used or sold? One time I was told āitās because if the package gets lost we can look it up by your name.ā Are we not smart enough to log into our Amazon account and see the tracking info?
What stinks is they are the closest UPS Drop off location and most of their employees lack customer service etiquette when things do not go their way they were taught
I am giving one star because zero is...
