While in Melbourne Beach, FL, Kayla Beth Fields & I decided we wanted a super nice non fast food Seafood Dinner so after checking out a few different options close to our Hilton Oceanfront abode. I used my Yelp app to help decide. I narrowed it down to between Red Crab-Juicy Seafood & Melbourne Seafood Station. I called both to ask simple question..can my 6yr old grandson bring in his own McDonald's Happy Meal...Melbourne said "A-Ugh, No!!" AND Red Crab..."Why sure, feel Free to make him Happy! Bring in whatever he wants!"...so we went to RED CRAB..and O-M-G-G-G!!!!! So freaking Happy we did!!
First of all, Great parking lot! Big, Spacious and easy peasy to get In and out of! The restaurant Eye Appealing outside but extremely gorgeous inside too!! Greeted and seated Immediately!!!
Waitress was so sweet, let me tell you right off the bat....she has customer service down to the T...she went Immediately to the boss [Deacon] and started with her charm..asking for a bite of his cheeseburger...lol
Kayla wasn't super experienced on what to try but was Game for anything so she let me take the wheel. We ordered a LOW Boil Family Platter of Snow Crab Legs, Lobster Tails, Shrimp, Sausage with Corn on the Cob & Red Potatoes. I ask for the Juicy Sauce to be Mild but and extra side of the Hot Hot Cajun Juicy for myself and some regular Garlic Butter Juicy for her.
As an appetizer, I ordered the half dozen Steamed Oysters in Medium Cajun Juicy Sauce...when they came out they were Magnificent!!! Kayla had never ever tried Oysters and to be truthful last summer in Panacea, Florida was my first time too. This was my first time trying them steamed! When they arrived in their shell on the platter with the lemon wedges, I Immediately squeezed some zesty lemon on them! I could see the spicy oozing on top and was a little worried to rich for Kayla. She doesn't really do spicy!
Deacon Immediately perked up and said he wanted to try them too..I was very happy to hear he was eager at 6yrs old to try but a little alarmed due to spice. But, he wanted to give it a whirl. I tried to find less looking spicy piece. Showed Kayla how to loosen from the shell and she dived in! Deacon tried and Immediately started fanning his mouth and drinking his Sprite. Shoot, I hope I didn't ruin it for him!! Kayla ate one, not crazy about the spice either. I should have ordered regular, I messed up but Hey, I thought they were divine!!! I loved the spicy but it was a tad hot!
Then they brought out our platter. Deacon was still eager to try the Snow Crab meat, Sausage, Shrimp and even the Lobster Tail...which ended up being his favorite. He said he liked it all a little bit, but the Lobster in the garlic butter sauce was his favorite.
I was very pleased with our food!! Definitely felt guilty that Tony not there to enjoy! I will definitely go back! Amazing food, Amazing Service and totally great price! Between us, we left Happy and full and left her a Amazing 25%...
Read moreHorrible service and exorbitant prices for subpar, and honestly quite depressing environment and dining experience! We were so hungry and looking forward to some seafood and were grandly disappointed by the attitude and hospitality shown by the hostess. My boyfriend was extra hungry and looking forward to the all-you-can-eat platter. I also knew what I wanted - simply 12 oysters. We have been to this establishment before and quite frankly we aren’t fans of the environment but we do appreciate the taste of the food. One would think these are quite simple and easy to fulfill requests, one all you can eat platter and a dozen oysters. But unfortunately the hostess who sat us down stated if ONE of us orders an “all you can eat” meal, we BOTH MUST order and pay for all you can eat meals 👀😡 What if I was allergic to most of the seafood except shrimp, fish etc whatever? What if I had specific food restrictions and/or only wanted specific things off the menu, such as oysters? What if I was a vegetarian and/or only wanted to order corn and potatoes and other sides? Well, if one of your party gets all-you-can-eat, you better get ready to get all-you-can-eat too! You get no choice! I wanted only oysters until she put these conditions on what we can and cannot order. Here’s a scenario - How idiotic does it sound, they expect me to order all-you-can-eat seafood meal even if I’m a vegetarian? I couldn’t order anything else if my companion orders an all you can eat meal. This was such a huge disappointment and I quite simply was amazed at the mandatory demand the hostess made for us to buy an all-you-can-eat meal when I don’t even eat that. Seriously…. What if I’m a vegetarian???? What if I’m just here to talk to my guest while he eats? Nope.
People like me are not allowed at this establishment apparently. This is discrimination in my opinion. I cannot eat here due to the rules the owners of this establishment has set. The hostess actually let us get up and walk out the door. She did not even tried to correct herself. She not only turn away business but made a customer feel less than welcome, unwelcome and uncomfortable to dine in or enter their restaurant. I would not support such an establishment again unless they change their way of doing business. I feel like this is not the integrity-driven way of doing business and would rather do without such a restaurant in my community and neighborhood.
Quite honestly I’ve had their food before. Nothing to rave about. I’ve had much better. Service obviously is not good as they did not care about accommodating us nor did they show us good hospitality as expected. Their ambiance...
Read moreI had been wanting to go here for a very long time because based on the ads I kept receiving they offer all you can eat seafood! Of course it is fairly pricey so I finally decided to splurge and go on my birthday. I called months in advance to check on the availability of the all you can eat and whether or not we would need reservations as my birthday is on New Years Eve. I was assured that the all you can eat is offered every day and we would not require reservations for less than 6 people. My friends arrived before me and when I got there they told me there was bad news. Apparently to get the all you can eat the ENTIRE table had to order it at $60 per person! I could not order it while my friends ordered their own separate entrees! Some of my party do not eat seafood! I was devastated and would have left immediately had my friends not already ordered drinks plus I did not want to inconvenience everyone by trying to find another place to go at 7pm. Would you not think to convey this information to people who call ahead to inquire about this very thing?? Nor was this information on the ads I had received! Against my better judgment I made do with ordering something else. Our server was hurried and we felt rushed when she was at the table. She was also not entirely knowledgeable about the menu and questions we asked. She told us we would have to wait longer for our food because there was a large party that had ordered all you can eat. How nice for them! And wait we did. The food I had was fresh and delicious but the whole night was overshadowed by my disappointment. We even waited a ridiculously long time to pay our bill! Sadly I will most likely go back because I want to try the all you can eat. Obviously I certainly DO NOT recommend going here for that particular thing if you are going with people who don't/can't...
