My fiancée and I visited today for a late breakfast/early lunch. I got the breakfast burrito with bacon, she got the breakfast sandwich with bacon, and then we shared the ahi poke wontons.
The sandwich was delicious, with a soft bread and perfectly cooked eggs. She let me have a bite of it and it was great.
I loved the breakfast burrito more though, as it was juicy and flavorful. No clue why no one has thought of putting scallions on a breakfast burrito up to this point. The flavors are on point.
What surprised both of us though, were the ahi poke wontons. The flavor of these wontons is just unreal. I have literally been all over Asia, and to just about every major trending and fine dining food restaurant in Japan (from Hokkaido all the way to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka); this beats most of the tuna items I've tried in any of those places in Japan, and definitely all of the fish places in the US so far. It is on par and in some ways surpasses any tuna you could find in Osaka, which is effectively Japan's food mecca. Easily on par and, depending on what you're looking for, beats them all out in terms of freshness and flavor. The chef came out and after chatting a bit, found out he was an award winning sushi chef. Boy, does it show! We ordered a second helping of the wontons because they're just that good.
I found this place through reviews like this one and was skeptical it could get a perfect 5 starts so consistently. I was wrong to be skeptical: it earned those reviews. Great and friendly service, and amazing food. I'm glad we came to eat there and am 100% saying if you love good, flavorful food, although especially if you love tuna, that you should give this...
Read moreMy wife and I were visiting the Melbourne area and wanted to get a quick bite before heading back to the gulf coast. We happened to be less than a mile away and saw they had 5 stars and some interesting options. The owners were super friendly, we chatted before and after our meal. I decided to go simple and get the Mahi Tacos and my wife tried one of their specialty smash burgers, the "Cherry Bomb"... Dude... the Tacos were some of the best I've had. The wasabi aioli with cucumber or something, I can't remember, chef's kiss. And my wife's burger was so good, she only gave me one bite! Two patties, melty cheese, candied bacon, and something to do with cherry habaneros (hence the name), little sweet, little spicy, juicy, 10 out of 10 would recommend. Pricing is on par with the quality of food, unpretentious, feel like we're friends with the owners now, covered picnic tables on the grassy nole overlooking the water and marina with some classic rock playing on the speaker near the truck setting the vibe, got us wanting to move to the area. Oh... they've also been featured on Guy Fieri's show with a previous restaurant and the food justified the picture with him posted on the window of the food truck....
Read moreWow, what an amazing find!! We were going to a concert at Cocoa Riverfront and decided to stop at the Anchorage Grill (food truck) on the way to grab some dinner. We mainly picked it because either was on the way, convenient by boat and would be quick. But boy did we get more than we expected!!!!
The food was stellar, it was top notch in terms of taste, price and everything. It's somewhere I would even go to by car...you can get your food, sit at the picnic area on the water and watch the sun set. It doesn't seem like you are sitting right off the Eau Gallie Causeway, it feels like you are in some cool little, low-key beach town somewhere else.
The owners are super friendly and are no strangers to the food industry in this town...it's Chef Bo & Red who helped put Tide & Tonic on the map with their culinary creations, before deciding to venture out on their own. Now you can treat yourself to one of their many tasty menu options, where you can sit and eat riverside or take it with you to the beach for a picnic.
I cannot recommend this enough...we WILL...
