My son and I went to Sileo's based on a recommendation. When it comes to certain foods, NY style is the only way to go. When you walk into Sileo's you definitely feel like you are in an NY deli. There's the seemingly tight sitting area, the elongated footprint, a counter with pastries with those little rainbow cakes and Yankee's stuff all over the walls...
Service was quick and nice. Not the traditional NY experience but a little more enjoyable. Note: there is an additional charge (4%) for using a credit card. You do get a small cookie if you use a credit card but I've noticed a few NY style restaurants in this area passing along this charge to customers. I could argue it's the cost of business and needs to be built in.
Now to the grub - it was okay. Yes, just okay. I ordered an Italian and my son ordered a Philly cheese steak. Both had plenty of meat and were well prepared but nothing really popped about either one. My son actually commented that he liked Jersey Mike's Philly better. Having tried many Philly Cheese Steaks, from Philly, I don't think he was very far off the mark. He was beside himself that there was mayo on his sandwich. I think his issue with that was the description didn't mention Mayo and he really doesn't like Mayo. My Italian was pretty good but nothing to write home about. Lots of meat and cheese but that was about it. Not many toppings or additions.
Now I read many five-star reviews on this place so I'll definitely give it another go and try some different things on the menu but overall I wasn't impressed with the sandwiches.
Oh, lastly, this place isn't the easiest to find. No sign on the top of the store. Only some smaller signs by...

There is an insulting amount of cream cheese on this bagel and the cashier just has no idea what she’s doing. Couldn’t figure out an order of 2 bagels without me repeating no less than 6 times and waited until my to go order was done and in my hand to start brewing the coffee I ordered. No matter what you order, they always will skimp in something. See the pictures.
Original Review: The sandwiches are pretty decent and taste good. The location is great and it’s super clean with a large menu and huge pastry selection. What I can’t overlook is the sides. A side of fries is 6 (yes SIX) dollars and this is the amount you get? Absolutely ridiculous. I spent many years as a short order cook for several restaurants and have literally done thousands of side orders of fries. Never in my life have I heard of this portion of fries costing $6. It’s honestly insulting, and the other sides are almost as bad. If you order pasta or potato salad, you’ll be lucky to get 3 full bites worth. An absolutely miniscule portion. I’d be fine with paying half the money for a side of fries, or $6 for double the amount but this is just sad. The sandwich bread is also almost always improperly toasted. Reuben bread should not be soggy. The shorter of the 2 servers in front is also usually super rude. I was glad I had the other server helping me today until she also treated me poorly. As a New Yorker, I’m a bit disappointed after...
Read moreTHE BEST TURKEY SANDWICH IN CHARLOTTE. The quality deli meat they use and the premium ingredients make this Turkey club the best we’ve ever tried. Always delicious time after time. We’ve turned many family and friends onto this place and they all order different sandwiches: subs, Cheesesteaks, meatball subs, and they are always pleased with their meals. The staff is always really friendly and helpful. Today we had our dog with us sitting on the patio and the waitress offered him a cup of water without us even asking for one. If you like a variety of soft drinks to go with your sandwich they really do have a great variety like drinks that are normally hard to find at lunch spots like Yohoo, Lipton Peach Tea, all types of sodas, and Italian cookies and sweets in the bakery case too. It’s located in Indian Trail but if you live closer to the center of Charlotte it’s well worth the drive if you are a fan of a...
