Wasn't impressed with this place. I visited way back before Covid and next visit was 9/7/22. First off, the person who greeted us was less than thrilled that we were there. Tossed the menus on a table. When she came back a few minutes later she asked if we were ready to order. I asked for sakes and water. We ordered when she came back. I ordered Tom Yum soup, Thai dumplings, we shared a Papaya salad and my husband got the Cashew chicken. The Cashew chicken was very good. The dumplings were filling with the sauce tasty. The Papaya salad was good as well. The Tom Yum soup tasted like it was a beef base with a darker brown broth. I am used to a lighter clear/yellow broth for the lemongrass base. I then asked for the Tom Kha soup instead. It was better. We ended up ordering another sake each to finish off the meal. When we received the check, the sake was $1 more on our bill than what the menu stated. I mentioned to the manager the difference and she said that the owner changed it in the system. I'm totally OK with that...but you have to change the menu that the customer reads. The drink menu mentioned nothing about prices may change. They did not change the price. This is our 2nd time going here and we will not go back. I highly recommend Thai Corner across the street. Lala the owner is amazing and so nice. She always comes out to greet her customers and Eve the waitress is always so nice and welcoming. They also have a awesome seating area outside. Don't waste your...
Read moreThis is really more of an "update" to my previous 5-star review. I must say the food is amazing, still a 5-star rating. HOWEVER, I am really floored by the quality of their "customer service". We've been going there multiple times a month (sometimes WEEKLY) ever since they opened, so several years now. You would think that the owner/server/hostess (same one who's there EVERY time we come) would be a little more friendly. We literally NEVER get a smile, or a friendly "hello"...nothing. I'm not asking for any kind of red carpet treatment, just a bit more "hospitality". This place makes you feel like you're in an assembly line and just a number to them. The Thai place across the street (in my opinion) has similar food but the lady who's there every single time is SOOOO incredibly lovely! Not only does she welcome you with the sweetest smile but she remembers what you ordered last time and just goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome...like you're part of the family.
I've wondered why THIS place is less & less busy as time goes on (especially since the food really is amazing!) but I guess I've just been blind to the unwelcoming atmosphere until I noticed the night & day difference between the treatment of customers among these two restaurants. Honestly, I'm just a LOT less likely to come here as often as I used to due to the "colder" atmosphere. Just too bad because this place could be killing it if they understood the concept of...
Read moreVery vindictive staff. I went in for dinner with friends one night and they showed up 30 minutes late, putting us ordering with 45 minutes left until they closed. I know this isn't ideal and I wanted to order way sooner but the staff was very rude, short, and aggressive with our plates, specifically this woman that was working that evening.
Today I went in to grab some food to go. The same woman was there and recognized me. I ordered a dish with tofu because I do not eat meat. I also asked for a spice level of 2. What I received was my dish with chicken at a spice level of 5... There were no other carry-out orders to mistake it with. I said tofu 3 times when ordering so I know it wasn't a miscommunication. When I called, they said they'd give me different food next time, not a refund for the inedible food I just ordered. I asked for an email stating a free meal in the future and that never happened.
Very displeased as I love the food here. I don't want to support a...
