First, there's no separate delivery fee, it's baked into the cost of the food($7 for 2 eggrolls lol). The more food you order, the more hidden delivery fee you pay. I'd rather just be charged $3-5 for delivery then a tip on top.
Second, the food is mostly good. The baked ziti is the most bland pasta dish I've ever had, but pretty much everything else I've ordered tasted pretty good. Pizza, both the buff chicken and BBQ pork mac n cheese, kung pow chicken, fried rice, eggrolls, pad thai, a few other things. I was blown away the first time I ordered.
The major downside is the inconsistency of service, portions and quality. Between my husband and I we've ordered about 8 times the past few months. The first few were amazing! But the last 3 or 4 were just very...disappointing. They will refund(and sometimes also give store credit for) mistakes which is nice but I don't like having to gamble on my food. Just read the ticket, follow instructions. Most of the time I order during times when business is slower.
One time the driver left my food at the completely wrong address. I texted them telling them they were at the wrong place and they didn't respond. I've put delivery instructions telling people where to go so they don't get lost in my complex and they don't seem to always read them.
I've added toppings to pizza that just weren't there. I've got an undercooked burger. One time I got half a container of fried rice when the prior times it was full. The one time I ordered chips and queso I got an insultingly small quantity of chips(the queso was good though!). I've got cold food a few of the times I ordered.
Drivers do not use hot bags. This should be a necessity. Pizza places all have hot bags. Chick-Fil-A has hot bags. DoorDash/Uber Eats/Grubhub drivers are supposed to use hot bags(even though most don't). Clustertruck as a company doesn't. So if you don't live close by or your food doesn't go out the door immediately, it's probably going to be luke warm or cold when you get it. This is not only a quality issue, but a food safety issue.
To Clustertruck: But hot bags for your drivers, make sure your staff is properly trained and reads tickets before making, packing and delivering orders. Have consistent portions. As I said, your food is mostly great, but you're phoning it in when it...
Read moreEvery time I have ordered from ClusterTruck, I have tried something new…everything looks very tempting. I have been extremely pleased with the quality of the fresh, homemade food, the updates on timing, the notification of delivery and the overall taste and flavors. I try not to eat out too much for lunch, but I just can’t help myself sometimes. The quality of the food is so good, very fresh. The chicken is excellent (in any dish). The seasoning is great. The portions are generous. The packaging is done well. The only complaint I have is that they don’t have a location on the west side of Indy so I can order on the weekends!!! I love ordering from here. Please do not hesitate. The only worry I have is that I’m not tipping the drivers enough (I’m never quite sure what is fair). You seriously need to try this for your next lunch. Spoil yourself once. I guarantee you will want to again. And when we are all so busy, it’s easily justified. The salads are great, the breakfast burrito is great, I loved the pork tacos and spring rolls. I can’t wait to try something new next week. And just so you know, I am offering this all on my own. I love to supposed local businesses and ones that really put the effort in. Hope you enjoy a meal soon!!...
Read moreThe food is really good but rating it lower because my recent ordering experience made me realize some of the limitations that limit why I don’t order here as often: You can’t order side dressings on the website. I get a side of ranch with everything, so it’s disappointing I can’t order one here if my dish doesn’t offer it. Can you just add sauces as a side like every other restaurant does? A little more customization is needed. For example, for the Buffalo wrap I don’t even get the option to add cheese (which all wraps always have), onion, or grilled chicken instead of fried. Basic ingredients that I know they have on hand. (I also know that you don’t want too many custom orders because it makes it harder to deliver quick… But I don’t think it’s asking a lot to add an ingredient that’s on your prep line) Given that this can be very expensive with delivery fees, I don’t think it’s a lot to ask for a little more customization and everything we order. because you don’t order this , I typically just go to places that do like district tap and get it door dashed. Deliver to Westfield, please.(we don’t haven’t many...
