Gave It Two Tries — Disappointed, But Grateful for the Lesson I always try to give grace — especially on a busy holiday like Mother’s Day. I know firsthand how overwhelming service jobs can be, and I walked in hoping this visit would redeem the last one. Sadly, it didn’t. We joined the online waitlist, which said 10–20 minutes. We timed it right, only to be told it’d actually be 30 when we arrived. That kind of inconsistency matters — especially on a holiday when folks are trying to plan around family. Once seated, the table wasn’t fully clean, and the floor was visibly dirty. Our server, to her credit, was kind and genuinely tried to stay on top of things. She seemed stretched thin, but she cared — and I appreciated that. The kitchen, however, was a different story. My drink was overly sour, like straight sour mix. My food came out cold. I politely said something, and they took it back. Less than 4 minutes later, it returned — with a hot egg on top, but the beans, onions, and chiles underneath still cold. It felt like they tried to mask the issue instead of fix it. I gave it back again, and they offered to remove it from the bill. I was told a manager would come speak with us, but that never happened. Not while we were waiting. Not before we left. They just quietly brought a discounted check and left it at that. Thankfully, my mom and Nana’s meals came out hot and they enjoyed them. But as for me? This was my second visit — and my last. I came in hopeful, but left disappointed again. To the server: thank you for trying. I saw the effort, and it meant something. To the rest — I hope this feedback is taken seriously. People come here to celebrate special moments. We deserve better.

I got the Lemon Blueberry Pancake entrée with over easy eggs and sausage. I also asked for an order of Beignet's. The pancakes were delicious but not heavy on lemon, which honestly I appreciated. Not sure if it was supposed to. The little crumbles of goat cheese along with the sweet and tartness of the blueberries was a great combination. It was listed to come with whipped cream, which mine did not come with. I dont mind though as I had a 20 minute drive home and not sure it would have been great for the overall food if I had. The eggs were delicious. Made exactly as I had ordered. The pleasant surprise for me was the sausage patties were hand made. Not store bought. The flavor was incredible too. So glad I chose them over the bacon. I love bacon too, don't get me wrong. I hardly EVER find that kind of sausage patty in breakfast/brunch places. I will be coming back, this time making my husband tag along, and trying a couple other items that caught my eye. Before I forget, the beignet's. They were...ok. Flavor was spot on, but I should not get them to go either. They seperate powdered sugar and when I got home to add it on, I didnt feel like the majority got on them. Mostly it coated the moist container. Probably best fresh in house.

It is my first time here and not to sugar coat, one of the best BREAKFAST/ BRUNCH place in Indianapolis, Indiana. I've been to numerous places to eat breakfast and they just have same thing on their menu but Another Broken Egg 🥚 has tons of choices. I loved my order which is Shrimp and grits, the best grits that I ever tasted. Had also their cinnamon toast and it is really delicious and what I liked about it is that is not really sweet sweet unlike other cinnamon. Another best thing is that, if it is your first time into their place they will give you a welcome BISCUIT BEIGNET this is so kind of them. Furthermore, the manager is really accommodating and he really helpful to his servers. kudos to him.! Our server, Destiny she is awesome! 10/10 overall. She made sure that everything was ok. Super nice lady, very professional and ultimately she always smiling which is really wonderful giving that good vibes in the morning. She deserves an appreciation to his manager! all in all my visit was fantastic! 👌👊💪

I want to start off by saying the food is amazing! always is amazing. BUT, the service is horrible! I'm usually not the one to leave reviews, considering this is my third time coming here, the service is always sub par!! So let's get into my most recent experience, which was Saturday October 12. two separate servers said that they would get us water. We never received water our entire stay. When I asked about certain dishes or drinks, the server was very quick to talk bad about it or what she didn't like about it. So, I ended up getting the exact same thing I always did, because she can't describe it in a delightful way? then why would I even expand my options? my guy actually ended up trying the Apple pie mimosa, even tho we were told NOT to get because it had so many complaints. He liked it. In the middle of the mid eating, my phone fell out of my pocket in front of my survey. She stepped back and said."Good thing you have a case on it" to have a customer touch the ground, as they're eating. instead of just grabbing it for them is insane! As a server, you should be washing your hands 24/7 (drop food to a table) before you grab another plate wash your hands! it would've been very easy to be kind, so, I could've continued to enjoy my meal! . The atmosphere.. Even though the restaurant is very pretty in itself in a nice area, it is dirty!! no one pre-cleanse, if I'm enjoying a drink, I have to sit with a dirty plate in front of me the entire time!! when they do clean off one table, all they do is pile it on another table from the patio to the bar top.. it's disgusting dirty dishes everywhere!! I mean HORRIBLE! And I have been in the service industry for a very long time, so I don't believe in NOT tipping, but,,, I want to solely" tip the chef " because that's the only reason they get repeated customers. The food is amazing. The service is trash. They're nice! but,...

IMPORTANT EDIT MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES for my initial review! I JUST NOW realized that reviewed the wrong restaurant! I've been to ABE four or five times. I have always had EXCELLENT service and food from Another Broken Egg!!! There was a miscommunication among employees on one visit where, after I was seated, it was some time (maybe 20 minutes or so) before anyone came to my table. I asked a gentleman walking by if he could find out who my server was for me. He turned out to be a manager, Stephen. In addition to making sure I was well taken care of, we had a lovely chat about Chicago foodie spots and amazing travel destinations. Side note: I hope he and his wife are making travel plans! Server Raven, I believe is her name (forgive me if I'm remembering incorrectly), is warm, welcoming, attentive, and great at her job! She even remembered the drink I like, despite how long it had been since my previous visit and the number of people she sees daily! I love this place and will keep coming back!

Leaving my initial review for reference and humility, LOL! Have copied it to be placed where it should be.

Original Review Food was cold when I got it. Like, not even remotely warm. Cold eggs and potatoes are 🤢. I requested it be heated. The server said they couldn't, but they could remake it. I despise waste, so I told her I would just eat it. A few minutes later, she came by, and I told her she could just take it. I tried, but just couldn't eat it. I got, maybe, halfway through. The mimosas were fabulous. Service was decent. Was very surprised to get my bill without any sort of compensation for cold food I could not eat. Like, did the server notify anyone of the issue? Kitchen staff? Manager? Despite the temp, I could tell it would have been delicious. Still, a very disappointing...

Not impressed. We went in during brunch on a nice Sunday. The hostess quoted us 30-45 minutes for a table for 2. Not bad considering. Got our initial welcome text and waited. It was an hour before I said something to the hostess. She apologized and said they lost our spot on the waiting list but would seat us immediately. She handed us off to our waitress who seemed less than happy to have us or another table. She placed our menus and asked if we wanted something to drink. I kindly asked for a few minutes to look at the menu since we haven’t been here before and we hadn’t even sat down yet. I had to repeat myself. She came back 5 minutes later. We gave our order and she came back quickly with them. Not an issue. She gave us a few minutes and asked if we were ready to order. We ordered but it was a struggle. She seemed impatient and wasn’t understanding what we needed. One of us has an allergy and we needed clarification. It wasn’t translating for her. We made a modification and things got lost in translation there too. Clearly I was annoyed. Didn’t wait too long for our food. But it was all wrong. Both entrées had to be sent back. My gf ordered the huevos rancheros. Came out without the full ingredients. The flour tortilla chips were not good. The side of pancakes and fruit were right. I ordered the eggs black stone Benedict. I read the menu wrong thought it had ham. My waitress was really good about getting me the ham. However the eggs were over cooked. They were hard boiled eggs. I asked for the manager. Both women were nice and apologetic. The manager redid our food and compt our main entrees. She gave us some free entree cards for next time. It was a nice gesture but Tbh I dnt think we will return. The food was not up to our liking and it was a waste of 2hrs....
